I use scorpion. Lots of power. But it runs pretty hot too even in cold weather. I guess it is related to belt tension. The problem is that you cant run belt too loose...

I fly 3.30 on 2600ma batteries.

I have the Scorpion 3026-880 with 14T pinion(you'll need the MSH51098 pinion adapter to run this gear), Lots of power and about 4:30 of flying around and 3D on 2600 6S pack. I really like this setup.Experience RC

Same setup here, but I get only 3.30 of 3D flying. Put back ~2000ma.

Stock motor works just fine, but i use Kora 15-12 on 5S in my Protos,
more than enough power for me, and the motor is cool after flight.
A friend of mine use a Kora 25-14 on 6S, a little heavier,
but with no heat at all.

If raw power is what you´re looking for check out this one:
http://www.kontronik.com/index.php?...emid=82&lang=de
Size-, weight- and kV-wise should be o.k., the question is if the frame and the batteries will take the beating.....

How about the Hyperion 3026-880kv motor, has anyone tried it yet? It's said to be the Scorpion with a better bearing??

I am planning to install the Scorpion but I am bit confused if using the 14T or 15T pinion.I don't even have an idea if the Scorpion can be run on the stock ESC...I am flying 2265 6S 25 C lipo....

That Kontronik Pyro 600 is a $300 motor. You are better off ordering a Neu 1708 motor for $150.

How loose should the belt be? How much should the head spin if spun by hand?
