I have both the Vibe 50 and Align 600.

IMO;

The Vibe 50 is one of the "top of the line" helis designed for advanced flyers. The parts are of high quality, and it is the best tracking 50 that I have flown to date. Although I had an Align 600, I did not understand what people where talking about when they said, "It tracks like it is on rails" until I got the Vibe 50.

On the other hand, Align is of fair quality and easy to build. It flys very well out of the box. It tracks OK, but develops slop quickly. For the price v. quality, it is hard to beat. But, it is NOT what I would call a high end machine, and it is easy to build. It is most definitly the machine for the masses.

With all the new 50 size machines on the market, you are going to start seeing more than just the Trex at fun flys, and the 600's will be up for sale.

Throw the stock tail blades in the trash,
Use them to stir epoxy so that you at least get your money's worth.

That´s for sure. With the N5 at US$550 is going to be a nice year for .50 market

Funny thing that Align is releasing FBL stuff, the new 550, a 700E but nothing like a T620N

Talking about 55, has anyone of you hear official news from JR to upgrade parts in a Vibe 50, may be like the main gear, etc before you upgrade your engine to 55 or 57?

I read the notice from Hirobo for their SDX but nothing for Vibe50.

It doesnt need any upgrades for the bigger engines,i have been runing the YS56 in mine for a while with no problems. There isnt that much of a power difference between the 50 and 56,it is noticable but not that dramatic. And no the OS 55 isnt that much more powerful either.YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE..IF YOU LIVE IT RIGHT THATS ALL YOU NEED

I'm not sure what you'd upgrade... it's already Mod 1 gears w/ the best Autohub out there in a 50 and a 90-size clutch & bell...

Lol - sorry, the "no way" comes from the fact that we fly together and he's already got two great 50's and now he's bought a third!

Thanks for your honesty. From most posts, it sounded like the YS56 and OS55 made 10.1hp and 10.0hp respectively., and I had to have them or my Vibes wouldn't fly anymore. I have 2 Vibes with YS50s and they seem to have plenty of power.

The Vibe 50 is a very very capable 3d heli. The only knock I have against it, is it's a bit portly in weight.

The Vibe50's I have are very very nimble and fast on cyclic and with the 140ccpm option(haven't tried the 120) feel very good throughout the range. The tail I had a humm with one of my Vibe 50's and once I switched to the KBDD 84.5mm tail blades that went away.

Once I started to use a better motor(OS carb modded TT53) it was a whole new machine to fly. Before that with a YS50ST it was ok, but definately down on power compared to a 90. Now it's close enough to still be fun flinging about.

I must be honest in that I really don't fly my Vibe50's anymore as I've fallen in love with my Velocity 50's, for the reaons I love my Vibe ie tracking, cyclic speed, etc... and for some reasons I felt were better than the Vibe ie weight and tail felt more locked in. But the Vibe 50 is a GREAT heli, is very high quality, and given one of the newer motors like the OS55, YS56 or even the modded TT53, it's a very fun heli to fly .

If you read most descriptions of the YS56 or OS55, they make so much power that it was an amount of power that was so great, anything else and your heli won't fly.

+1 on DS8717 comment noticeable but not huge.

I´ll try 8.5 ratio with my YS56 since it seems the sweet spot for YS56 on 8.7 is about 2050RPM but I prefer 2100RPM on a .50

JGatorman have you tried another pipe on your YS56 ? How does it compares with the new B320 ?

OTS,

Hehehe...I like my Vibe 50 that I don't want to break it so i bought a new one. I'll make it as a spare parts or thinking of making it as flybarless as soon as the JR conversion kit comes out. Besides I got it for $430 out the door so instead of arguing with horizon hobby for a $100 g10 frame and $100 swashplate I just ordered a whole kit..LOL!

No I have only used B320 funtech so far so good. Unfortunately I still do not have enough flight time on it to provide critical analysis(my two dollar word for the day LOL)as soon as I get to ring her out some I will let you know. Actually Wingman77 has more flights on her than I do(He flew her at Bham funfly for I was too nervous due to 14 stations and helis everywhere) due to 8900g failure at the start of last weekends flying session. Also first nitro for me but so far so good.
