+1 as what dkshema did

I have Sony Eneloops in my JR X9303 and my 12x.

I built my packs, but it cost me more than $20. Probably closer to $30 for mine, but $ might have come down. If you can find the Duracell pre charged with white tops they are Sony Eneloop cells. Or you can order the Sony Eneloops as well.

I ended up spending more on my 12x to have a shop build me a pack, as on my 12x I missed the charge port, and they have the battery cartridge. I got a spare pack(from 10x, but was a bad pack, just wanted the shell). Sent it to SincityJets and they put in Sony Eneloops. Now I have my charge jack back, as the charge jack is built into the battery cartridge.

The Eneloops are the best of both worlds in regards to time between charges, and holding a charge ie no appreciable self discharge. I've gone months between flying and I can't tell a difference in voltage. My 12x needs charging every few flying sessions still, but it's a hog for power. My X9303 can go months between charges.

I have the Sanyo Eneloop batteries in my X9303. I recharge them before going to the field. I usually fly between 8-12 flights on a given day, with each flight lasting about 9 minutes. Guess that comes out to about 110 minutes or so of TX "on" time.

Am I hurting the battery pack by recharging so often? How much actual run time will that 2000mah pack give?

Let me add to that
After flying all day yesterday, the TX pack only took 340mah to bring it back to full charge.

Guess that pretty much answered part of my questions.

The main "advantage" to using LiPos is their very low self-discharge rate. The "eneloop" and Pre-charged NiMh cells share this same feature -- very low self-discharge.

The standard batteries that ship with the transmitter are fine, but they DO have a high self-discharge rate.

I can think of no other reason for using LiPos in a TX, and since the "eneloop" and "pre-charged" cells match that low self-discharge rate, I really see no reason at all to use LiPos in a TX.

Yeah, I've got a LiPo and a backlight LCD on order...hopefully it will come sooner rather than later. It seemed like it was just the right thing to do to get that LiPo once I decided to create a way to draw more energy from the battery.Chris. AMA 497715 IRCHA 3351
