old vs new
I am glad YS is coming out with the new engine, but i hope they don't do like they allways do with their old engines and dis-continue, i still like the 91 SR, but i am still interested in the 3ds too.--> Any word on when these engines will be here in the US ?

3DS
I received mine last week, and have been at the Pitchbrothers Smackdown all weekend flying my nitro bird, guys this motor is insane. The motor produces ridiculous amounts of power both in the mid range, and on the high end, resulting in near unboggable performance. The motor is very similar in power to the NPRC modified engines that have been floating around, but the benefit here is that is 100% factory done, and warrantied through YS, win win situation. It runs really cool at 150*F temped right below the headblock. Videos to come.

I was running 1980 headspeed, seems to be really happy and in the sweetspot there.

There is no doubt I will be there next year

I'm not sure I agree with that.

The SR is the long stroke version - and as with any application that utilizes a longer stroke for performance enhancement, it usually runs at a lower rpm than a comparable large bore/short stroke version.

I've read here many times that the YS SR prefers a slightly lower rpm than the OS engines.

And I would think the same logic would apply to the YS 91 SR 3DS engine...

I might be wrong but the new SR 3D is the same bore and stroke. I can only say mine likes the higher RPM and you cant bogg it. Jason is even running his at a higer rpm than me because of the gear ratio. Too many rumors goin around.I am using an SB 19 on mine its not in the power band if you dont run the motor at 16000,it will fall off the pipe and not recover as well as the higher rpm.
