Hey does anybody have an accurate weight of a stock Trex 500 with no battery?

List in grams if possible.

I don't have a stock one but one with the 3G flybarless unit and head. Using Align DS510 servos and a Futaba 9257 on tail. I am also using a AR7000 receiver. Weight without battery is 1370 grams. I know this isn't the exact weight you were looking for but ut should be fairly close. Chuck

I just weighed my fiberglass version -- 1406 grams. Three HS-82 servos, an S9257 TR servo, Inertia 860 gyro, fiberglass blades, AR7000 and stock everything else.

My CF version is 1470 grams, three HS5245 servos, S9257, Inertia 860, AR7000, CF blades, stock everything else.

Thats a surprise. The CF frame and blade version is heavier than the fiberglass version.
Is it possible that there is a big difference in the weight of the cyclic servo's

HS-82MGs are advertised at 19 grams. The HS5245MG is listed at 32 grams, making an HS5245MG 13 grams heavier.

Having three of them, the 5245 servos weigh 39 grams more in my CF version than the 82's do in my GF version.

1470 - 1406 says the CF heli is 64 grams heavier than the GF one.

Of that additional 64 grams, 39 are the 5245 servos, leaving the CF version 25 grams (just under an ounce) heavier than the GF version.

The CF blades are a bit heavier than the GF blades, 120 gram/set for CF as opposed to 113 gram per set for the GF set. That would account for 7 of the delta of 25 grams noted above. Take the blades off, you're now looking at something like 18 grams difference (CF over GF).

You're now looking at about a 2% difference in weights...not substantial.

Yes, Thankyou.
I've always taken it for granted that CF was lighter than FG and am actually quite surprised to see in this application that it is not, especially when it comes to the blades. Very en"light"ening indeed.
