Got a sneak-peek at a new heli design today. It's a new Fly design. The frame looks like the servo mounting locations changed so that all servos or located in the front for Cyclic control. I am not sure, but it looks like this new bird design is more compact as well. I believe it also has a shaft drive.

Anyway just wanted to create a little chatter in this forum to get some momentum going. It's Springtime and I have been up way too late tonight (3 Am) getting all of my RC gear in order.

It would be nice to get some real topics rolling in here to make it an interesting place to visit after a long day of work.

Happy Flying everyone!

Is it a four stroke? Does it have a carbon frame and aluminum parts? Let us know what it is and do you have any pics?

Thanks for the info
Ivan

The Fly is a 6s electric heli. I have the original design, actually it's the prototype of the original. It swings 475 blades and has an extremely low parts count. It flies great and has huge amounts of torque. I can get a 10 min flight without a problem just flying around and doing light aerobatics. I would guess that you could easily get a 6 min flight doing moderate to hard 3d. I'm anxious to see this new design.

Those of you that have read QWW forum over the years know that we first produced EP helicopters 8 years ago. We just test flew the new FLY SD 6s. This is now called the “500” class.

Do we have the power? We are using 515MM blades, 6S 4000MAH @ 20c & a CC 60 & Ubec We use our standard 1050 KV OUTRUNNER with a 14 tooth & 120 main tooth main gear. We were turning the head at 2400 & have pinion from 10-16 with each tooth increasing or decreasing the RPM value approximately 150 RPM’S. This set-up can handle from 475 -530 blades maybe even 550 but I fly those on the SUPERFLY SD or belt version that is 8S powered.

This machine features the same all CNC one piece tail case & shaft tail parts that we use on our 21 & 24MM booms SD version. This machine has a very low parts count & easy to maintain & service same as the FLY belt version.

If any one is interested in reviewing this machine please PM me. This machine will support any 3D flying routine.
