I have read a few threads indicating the button heads are not so good.

are they really that much of a pain and worth replacing when doing a new assembly? I have tons of spare hardware so replacing all of them is a non issue, can't see much of weight savings using them, or is there?

thanks Kevin

The Radikal comes with a hole to bolt a head button but no button is supplied with the kit.

Jschenck (thanks man!) was kind enough to send me a spare trex 700 button from his stock and it fits perfectly making for a better looking head.

I've heard they are considerabley lighter, like a couiple ounces or more then std bolts, especially once you put the fancy cnc washers under them.

I think I need to drink some tonight, but thanks for the heads up anyway, have not machined anything is months so will give me something to do this weekend, will make a few head buttons, both decorative (read sharp and dangerous) and functional ( normal boring head button)

More Head
The button heads take a 2mm hex driver and the standard head uses a 2.5 and is about .5mm (.020) deeper. If you think you might be taking it apart on occasion the drive socket on a standard head won't be as prone to strip out.

Every solution breeds new problems
