I am interested in the SAB Tailrotorblades for my flybarless Raptor e550

(I am still building it)

I just don't know what size I should order?

87mm, 92mm or 95mm ???

Can anybody help me?

Thank you

I think you'll do fine with the 92mm. I'm using 92mm. on my E550 and E620.

Just wondering - Why does a Heli with 600 mm MainBlades needs smaller Tailblades (92 mm) compared to a Heli with 550 mm Blades = 95 mm Tailblades?

It's the the boom length. With a non-Titan boom the 95mm tail blades will hit 600mm. mains when it flexes, at least thats how it was with the old TT blades that was 603mm. On my E620 I can use 95mm. with 600mm. mains because of the Titan boom(22mm. longer).

So the 92 mm TailBlades should be fine for my e550?

The original plastic ones are 84 mm

Are the plastic ones any good for 3D flying?

I have never used the plastic tail blades. I can't see getting a good gyro and fast rudder servo and lose their ability to perform up to par because of a pair of flexing tail blades.

makes sense

So - shall I take the 92 or 95 mm ?

Does it make sense to go with the bigger ones?

I am looking for a superb backwards performance.

I would use the 92mm. I don't have a problem with the tail holding with 92mm. on the E620 and it has a Neu 1912/1Y in it.

Thank you

Right now I am surfing on the italian SAB Website (don't worry everything is written in english)

http://www.sab-compositi.it/english/indexnews.htm

They recommend 87mm TailBlades for 46/50 size helicopters

Anyway - I guess I will go with the 92 mm ones. I hope I do the right choice.???
