I followed the instructions regarding 3D setup for the Raptor 30. I'm basically trying to get +10/-10 degrees collective pitch. However, no matter the instructions, it always seems I got +8 or +9 and -4.

In the end, I ended up tossing the manual and doing things my way. I now get full collective travel but I'm not sure if what I did was ok to do. Essentially I used a longer servo arm and placed the ball about 18mm away from the center of the servo horn. I also lengthened the push rod to about 58mm. The collective arm ball was also moved to the inner side and finally, EPA was modified until I got full travel with no binding.

Anyway, I think I'll leave it as is, but was wondering if it was just me, or if there was something wrong with TT's instructions?

The manual should be correct. To verify, google raptortechnique click on assembly and settin up pitch. Mark perwitt methodicall wrote out the steps on doing this. Alot of other info too on raptors and radio setup. I apologize not giving a direct link I am sure how to do that.

been there done that for a raptor 30 you can't get +10 -10 pitch you have to steal from one or the other to get it. I played with everything and +9 to -9 is what i get. Trust me even at 9 pitch she will do it all and watch the head because it bogs down easily. You need to change the head to a titan one with ALL the parts that comes with it and you will get -11 +11 on the pitch but now your well beoyond what your 30 size motor can put out

R30 pitch
For mine I was able to get +/- 10 degrees but more than 9 bogs the headspeed badly. Instead I used the extra on the top side so now running +/- 9 in idle up and have +11 in throttle hold for better auto performance with the little 550 blades. Just one way to go.

Thanks guys... I checked out the link on Raptor Technique, and so far my helicopter meets all the criteria. Only thing that differs on my model is the servo pushrod length and horn mounting location. I get about +10/-10 now in its current configuration.

Quick picture: finally finished today!

looks like got it but you can get better symmetry by flipping your servo so the output shaft if forward when using the inner hole on the collective arm
