Last week I fitted 3G to my 600ESP
The mod took little time and was very easy to set up (mechanically and electronically)

finally did an 8 min. test flight. Took it slow at first because I was honestly expecting something to be odd or some adjustments to be made, but....

it flew perfect on default settings. I didn't need to touch the gains. No odd things, no oscillation, drift, or anything.

I'm not saying it's better than Vbar or anything (since I have tried no other FBL system).
But it works for me.

I couldn't say I notice any advantage or difference than with the flybar, but then I only fly mild non-inverted. I am practising basic 3D on my 500, so I will try some on the 600FBL soon!

I found the same to be true for my initial set-up.

First flight .....was so excited that it actually did feel great, and took her around the entire tank.
Put the canopy on and went up and had a great time!! I need a couple of adjustments made, but only becouse this is a new heli....
I am very pleased so far, and am looking forward to this flying season!!!!
Like it so much, I am putting the 3G in my 500 with a RJX FBL head.

I am only using RJX heads becouse I buy the electronics (3G) seperate, and then purchase the heads. Much less $$, at least for me.

So, I have nothing against the Align heads, it is just more economical at this time to use RJX fbl heads.

Align get a lot of bad press, but then they sell a lot.
For me they are the best value, best availability of spares, and good 3rd part support, and good forum support!

I only ever buy align now. I've never had any major problems (no more than with other makes I have bought)

So I will soon by 3G for my 500 and 700

Mine also flies great !!!
I too fitted one of my 700's with the 3G unit and have had 10 tanks so far braking in a new engine without any issues and this thing flies great !

4 times only I experienced the tail kick that people mention but went back to normal immediately. The software update should fix that.

Very small bubble on elevator still with gain down to 8 o'clock but now that I will start leaning the engine and finish tuning it, I plan to change my mounting material of the sensor as people have suggested.
I am only using one align pad with nothing strapping down the sensor..

I will try zeal tape and Velcro or what others found to be the best, 2 pads with a metal plate in between.

Other than that it flies perfect.! No interactions to deal with, no constant correcting, and my tail holds better that almost any gyro I had. Switched to idle 1 at low rpm's so far and tried rolls, loops etc..It's on rails. I just love the control.
Very impressed with the initial experience on the unit. Now time for my 2nd 700 and 500 to be converted ! The units are waiting on the bench!

I just thought to give an opinion too instead of starting another thread .

Allot of what a person will think of every product will be dependant on their own abilities to get the most out of a product. Some may or may not notice a products pitfalls if they are not pushing the product, servos, gyros, flaybarless systems, blades etc. If you are happy with whatever it is that you have that is all that counts at the moment, be well.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

I am glad to hear a success story about them. I have been thinking about getting one for my 600ESP.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

3G Flips and Rolls
I have had my 3G for two weeks and already have a gallon on it. The first time I took it up it was kicking and screaming like someone said . After a few flights of adjusting the pots now it is close to perfect. The FFF roll rate is a lot slower than with the FB but the stationary rolls were right on the money. Beside that I really love!

At the same time that I was flying my 3G for the first time one of my friends was doing the same thing on a T-Rex 500, but he was using the V-Bar 4.0 and the LCD display. What took me 4 flights and 25 landings he did in two battery packs. But I do have to say that when he took it up for the first time his heli was kicking and screaming just like with the 3G.

With all that said, my pot settings on both ELE and AIL are at 9 o'clock (what ever that percent might be).

Every time I go flying I like it more.

My setup:
Everything is Align ( 2 in 1, Revlimiter, 610, 620, 600D, 3G). I had a Pro fly the heli when it had the FB and he really liked it. Now I will have him fly it with the FBL and I will be adjusting the 3G.

3G
I love it. The first time I flew my 700 after the 3g install, it just jumped right into a stable hover. It was actually a little startling. It just sits there, nice and smooth.

I just bought a 500 FBL with 3G. I can't wait.

I felt the same thing. The 3G is working awsome. My only problem is setting up the tail. Mine drifts to the left in a hover. Any thoughts? Thanks Kevin

yes you should set the tail mechanically in rate mode so it doesnt drift then reset your endpoints (this is how I do it others will tell you to only set HH mode and call that good enough

Took your advice. Last night i moved the ball in to 10mm, no change. Lowered the gain to 31% (Futaba Radio) No change. Changed the tail blades to Radix 105. Big difference. The drifting was gone and so was the wag, but not 100% locked in, but 95%. Set the gyro up in rate mode, now it is locked in 100%.

When this come out alottt of people talking about saving money over other flybarless systemz see many buying blades that will work as ones with packagee do not work well enough, and making soldering wiring changes, special tape arrangements. Now you spent more money and time and have less performing item how is this saving you money or time? Is neww furmware or soft ware work now? Jus wundering how folks are justifying their beta testing on this 3G and their costs? Still hevnt bought one cuz it seems more expensive for less purformance when you habve to do all these special things and not many happy?

I am using the Align 690Ds that come with the kit or 3G.

I tried the Radix 690s they work great too.
