Hirobo guys please dont hate on me

I noticed during my last test flight that the heli was not smooth. Thought the main shaft was bent but it ended up being the center hub. So I had my 600 head just sitting there and decided to give it a try.

I still may switch it back. I have not flown it yet. Crappy weather still. Wow what a winter.

Here are a couple of pictures.

Think it will fly better or worse ???

Check for binding of the washout links. They are at an angle when the swashplate is neutral, when you go to full swash deflection at high pitch you may have a problem.

I checked it and it does bind. I moved the arms in and there is no bind but I can only get about +/- 9 degrees of pitch now. 11.5 before moving the arms in. Same 7 degrees of cyclic.

I will order the hub and keep things simple.

how dare you fit align parts onto a hirobo
learn the lesson i fitted the sevos from a trex into my sdx 50 and the proper heli rejected them as spoilt goods
be warned the sdx put its spell onto said sevros and the brush broke after 4 minutes of flying

now put the hirobo head back on
or we'll send you to the align section of the forum

I saw your convertion. Looks great. I plan on buying an SDX this summer but for now just sticking with the Sceadu. Still flys great.

Thanks C54fun. I really enjoy the conversion process. One good thing is that except the rotory head, the SDX and Evo50 have a lot of parts in common that are completely interchangable.

C54, you may know that the Sceadu has had three head versions, the normal (the one that was also fit in the old GPH and Shuttle), the evo and finally the SDX ones. You may also know that the first version (the old one) is the one that inspired the first trexs 450 (also the chassis was inspired there). No one can deny that those were a mere and miniaturized copies of the old sceadus (in fact the bigger trexs also copy the SWM sanwa hirobo control designs).
In my opinion you may have been better off putting on that 15 year old shuttle head (the dural one is very nice) which is the exact same design than the Trex600 one but better made. But all in all you are indeed downgrading the machine with a slightly old head design.

Okay don't worry it'll work, you'll die no matter what your hirobo will curse you for the rest of its life.
