not yet. rumor says this model swings 500+ mm blades, flies like a 600esp but with low cost battery packs

So I'm guessing 6s 3500 packs... I think they woulda been better off just making the 600 8s stock and keeping the 500 and been fine

More than likely 6S 5000's. This is what the T-REX 600E SHOULD have been. This machine will probably be a direct competator to the Swift 550, Outrage 550, Logo 500.

Well if it's made for cheaper battery cost I don't c how they would still use a 5000mah pack... I just think it would cost them alot less to produce a 8s motor and esc for a 600 and it would have awesome power and good size... Cause most likely the only advantage of a 550 cost wise is little cheaper on blades, but smaller selection

It depends on how you look at it. The BIGGEST reason the T-REX 600E isn't more popular is the fact that it's stock 6S power system requires a very well conditioned, high C rated battery or it will destroy the battery in short order. When the 600E initially came out, most 6S 5000 25C packs at the time had very short life expectancies as the stock 6S power setup was extremely inefficient running 600mm blades, relatively high airframe weight, and very high current demands. As a result, most people either upped the series count(much like yourself) to lower the batteries current demands or dumped the machine altogether. Upping the stock S count of the 600E from 6S to 8S would only make it more expensive as you would now be paying more for batteries.

Now, the first machine I can think of that started the trend running 6S 3700-5000 mAh packs on a "550" class machine was the Swift 16(and 550 Carbon). The airframe was significantly lighter, and paired with a set of shorter 515-560mm size blades the batteries operated at much more reasonable currents and temperatures. The Logo 500 and the Outrage 550 are two other machines that are in pretty much the same size class and the "common" setup with all of these machines would be 550-560mm blades with 6S 5000 mAh packs.

This is the best news comeing from Align in years, maybe ever.

When the origonaly brought out the 500e I was disapointed it was not a 550, although I do admit the 500 has turned out to be my favorite heli, I was also disapointed when they brought out the 700 and not a 550, I have also been disapointed that everyones now talking about a 700e and no 550, so maybe the 550 will come out first.

Def will be my next heli when its available...I just can't justify the crash costs on my Logo 500 but I like the size of it.

Ya I agree on the lipos but now days when u can get a 8s for 70 it's pretty cheap lol... I'd be interested in seeing flight time and power on this new machine... I still think align needs to have a regular person fly it cause Alan makes any heli fly awesome lol

the current canopy is not attractive. i would prefer a smaller version of the futura se canopy. that was my favorite.

The problem with going to higher than 6 cells, is you have a choice between a either a Castle creation or Kontronic HV esc, both of which cost a small fortune to purchase, if its 6s you can use an Align esc thats not as expensive.

ED: More importantly generaly you already have an Align esc by default as it came with the kit, so you have to go out and buy a whole new esc and then the other one is useless.

The new CC ICE ESC’s are good up to 8s and have a built in data logger. For my Raptor E550 8s 3300 Turnigy LiPo is just right.

A Trex 550 with a flybarless controller, 8s LiPo and 550mm blades would be the perfect size. I sure hope that Align has learned a lesson from the 600 and makes the stock frame will fit a Scorpion motor.

Looks good... Is that a 6s 3000? Or around there ya I hope the frames fit also... But grinding the frame is easier than cutting the motor mount holes
