I wanna put my 90 torque tube and boom on my Raptor but for some reason if I push the boom all the way in the front gears get tight. With the 60 torque tube and boom I can push it all the way in and the gears don't get tight. With the 90 boom and torque tube do I just push it in until the gears get tight and back it out until there smooth ?I thought there was a gear set for the 90 boom and TT but the gears are the same for both,PV0140/PV0149..Thanks guys .

I did that conversion twice on 2 different raptor 60's, dont remember that isuue on either of them, how far do you have to pull back the tail boom to smooth out the gears? I do remember from here that people said for the 60 to slide the boom in all the way and then slide it out about a 1/6 so it has a little play and not jamming the torque tube.

Coolpowered,
If I push it all the way in and back it out 1mm the gears are smooth. If I push the boom all the way in and back it out until the boom isn't in the guides (2 nipples in the boom block that keeps the boom from turning) its 5mm.The boom slides on the 2 nipples in the boom block 4mm,should it go in more than that?

Your new TT may be too far forward in the boom. I run into this from time to time, but I Loctite the bearings to the TT. If you have Loctited or glued your TT bearings in place, then your TT is simply too far foward in the boom. Tap it back 1.25MM and you should be fine.

I have also seen where machining roughness on the TT ends have prevented the TT from going all of the way in the gears on one end or the other. Make sure the ends fully enter the gears and are not binding part of the way in.

Lastly, you TT might just be too long. The one currently in my R90 is just a bit too long. I had to pull my boom back about a 1mm to keep it from binding the gears. But I only did so after I was positive that the two above issues were not my problem.
