Bought a Predator Condor from a friend and decided to build my own air filter for it. I started with a crank case filter from AutoZone and turned a base on my lathe to make it fit. Thought it looked half decent when I got through.

Nice work!
That's what this hobby is all about and I'm sure when you made this thing it gave you a great sense of accomplishment. Looks great just like a ready made product

Thanks Raja.
Sometimes it is fun to build your own and get that "I did that" feeling rather than buying one off the shelf. I have to tools to do most anything but unfortunately I don't always have the time.

Tomorrow brings the epic journey of sorting out all the wiring and making it look nice.

Hopefully this weekend she will be airborne for the first time at my hands.

Thanks guys, so far it works great and it is easy to get on and off. The choke was removed on the original filter case and I did not bother putting one on this one. So far I have not needed a choke. a few pumps on the primer bulb and give it a pull and its running.

I also test flew it several times this weekend and found a problem with the mating surfaces on the engine and the V4 mufflers. The exhaust port on the engine was not flat. (I blew a new gasket while hovering)

I took a diamond stone and flattened it out, so if you happen to find yourself blowing exhaust gaskets you might consider checking the flatness of the exhaust flanges.
