Is it new enough that it has not been properly broken in?

I wont suggest a ratio but please don't mix at 100 to 1, even the better (RC Plane) Engine guys will tell you not to mix at 100 to 1 for your Gasser Planes, and Gasser Helis run hotter !!! do a search on this page and you will get a lot of info..

I have over 250 flights on my Predator w/G231 and have always used a 65:1 ratio of the Amsoil 100:1 oil. Even for break in - first two gallons of easy flying and sport aerobatics before any 3D.

This summer I might try going 75:1 but have not decided yet.

Your milage may vary.

Heliman1189, as the Wasp said there are many posts and threads on here about oil ratios.

If the engine is brand new (never been run) then you might want to consider running at least 4 oz of a non-sysntehtic oil for at least 1 gallon. Some here on the forum use Amsoil after the breakin gallon and use between 2 and 3.2 oz per gallon. the average is probably a 40 to 1 ratio which is 3.2 oz per gallon.

You will find that someone here has run just about any brand and any ratio. Some have had tremendous sucess and others not so much.

Best bet is to find out if it is a stock engine or custom and either go with 4 for breakin and 3.2 for after or for custom go with what the builder / customizer recommends.

Good luck

Personally I go with 4 oz of lawnboy ashless for breakin and 3.2 of Amsoil there after in my TRM (231 & 260) motors and for my Wally (27)motor I use Mercruiser non-synthetic and afterwards their premium mix.

You need to put at LEAST 2 packets to one gallon of gas. That will give you like 43.6:1 mixture.
