I am trying to stabilize a scale 450 with a 4 blade head, I have been looking around however now that the gyro went bad instead of replacing the GY401, I am thinking of just putting a 3G system in it to take over the task, will this system work for what I am trying to do? I can set the head phasing mechanically but I am unsure if the 3G can handle the multiblade setup. Thanks.

I don't know about the G3, but Futaba makes or did make a 2 Axis Gyro for Muli Heads that may help..

It can handle it just fine. Actually I think it handles multiblade better than 2 blades, lol. I'm running 2 3G's on T250s the scaler is smooth, the pod/boom is twitchy. But different headspeeds and vibration levels involved so.... And they are T250's. And the 4 blader has a heavier disk mass helping it out.

But here's 4 blades on a T250 with a 3G for your review...

Good to hear! I was getting worried since nobody else had responded! I am excited again to now to try it out. Any tips for setting it up?

Setup is pretty easy as there is not a lot of adjustments possible (yet) like with a SK360. But rumor has it a USB cable/software will be made available to play with fine-tuning. Note that this is not as smooth as a SK360/seperate tail gyro, the tail can occasionally 'kick', and the elevator is somewhat twitchy. Upcoming software updates are rumored to address this. On my T250's, the head phasing is set up straight 90* and seems ok. I think for something bigger the usual 12:30 phasing position 'sweet spot' as seen with SK360's can be done mechanically should a software option not become available. Also note that digital servos are a must with the 3G where the SK can use analogs. Other than that, pretty much standard setup. Post how yours works out if you go ahead with it!

That is again great to hear! Why do you say that digital servos are required? I am using a Belt CP V2 mechanics in the model and all the main servos are digital however I am using a tail mounted micro servo to drive the tail and it is not digital. Will that be a problem?

The 3G wants digitals on the cyclic...per the manual. Looks to be digital frame rate only. On the tail I'm not sure if there is an analog switch or not...check one of the manual's setup procedures to make sure
