I am thinking of going flybarless but have one question. I just bought a gy520 will I run into problems using it instead of the one that comes with the v-bar?

Thank You.

Yes, the V-Bar is a 3-axis gyro, the little box has 3 sensors in it, not just a tail gyro, and the unit relies on information from the tail sensor, along with the other two sensors (all located in that little black box), to input corrections, which is why 3-axis sensor flyblarless systems fly so much better than the others, they have more information to work with.

If you want to keep your GY520 get a SK360.

Why not just sell the GY520 on ebay?

The gyro in the VBAR is a superior gyro anyways. Just use the one in the VBAR...........Ron
