hey folks,

i am an american living in Bangkok and looking to meet some other folks here. There are alot of thais flying here, but the language barrier makes it tough.
if anyone is over here or coming for a visit drop me a line, email or PM.
I fly helis and planes. But all my planes are still in the states.

Justin Jee will be in Bangkok on Apr 3-4 for heli demo. How is the protest going over there? Is it serious enough to cancel the trip?

its fine here
just tell him to leave an extra 3hrs before going to the 7-11! And bring both yellow and redshirts.
where is he flying? who does he fly for?
send him my email and tell him to get in touch-------
nevermind i just realized who he was. i suppose we could all fly that well if someone else bought all the parts, fixed all the broken birds, and went to work for us. That said he is amazing.

And bring both yellow and redshirts.
Is this because of the protest colors?

yea, apparently everyone has a color here. the king is yellow or now pink, red-shirts of course are,(duh), red, i think green is army!
I am considering just going naked to play it safe.
but in all seriousness it is fine for now. The protesters are only in certain areas and on some roads. I drove the motorbike into work today and did not see any at all. Then we took the birds out for some more testing (and more testing, and more testing...) roads were fine. At least fine as far as Bangkok traffic goes.

Hi Eric (I guess)

I'm on holiday in Thailand 'till the end of the month, in SamutPrakan 10~15 Kms outside of Bangkok just off the Sukhumvit Road.

I brought my 4 bladed TRex 450 with me and also a kit of EPP bits for a foamie that I built here.

I take it you're 'HeliErick1' on RCThai? I'm registered there (username C Andrew Green) too, see my post looking for spares.

Regards, Andrew

I want to visit Thailand one of these days. I'd like to visit the temples, not for religious reasons, but I like the building and the architecture. I took a lot of pictures last time I went to Vietnam.

How much freedom do you have in a communist country?

To fly helis and even to make helis? A lot

On the serious note, things are loosen up a lot nowadays. Those countries are somewhat more open minded and at least one of them is even a US major ally I think we're more focused on dealing with the new enemies nowadays (I.E., current wars).

I grew up fearing the communism as schools injected communismfobia.
