Hoping some Cellpro gurus can help here. Anyone know what this safety code relates to? There's no information in the pdf manual, which stops at 93 in the safety code list which is a calibration error.

I'd like to narrow it down to help troubleshoot whether this is a charger problem (false positive error) or whether there is something up with a pack.

Thanks in advance

Not sure....
However; Howard replies quickly to emails, have you tried FMADirect?

Thanks, I'll drop Howard a mail and see if he can clear things up.

The only proper mention I could find of this code 96 was the description for a Multi4 charger firmware update with something like curing a false-positive error for low cell voltage during low charge rate conditions.

I know what you mean....
Any other reference I've found mentions Multi4 charger as well. Howard is definately your best bet. Unless someone else chimes in

Hi,

The latest firmware v2.26 usually takes care of Safety Code 96 if the error is a "false positive". What firmware version do you have installed? The initial startup screen displays firmware version. The error is caused when current ramps up to quickly in the charger. But this can also be caused by loose or intermittent wiring in the battery, the battery connectors, the adapter, or the main discharge leads. So, if you have the FUIM2 or FUIM3 PC interface, load up the latest Charge Control Software at the following link and update the firmware first.

http://www.fmadirect.com/new_applic...s_software.html

If you still have problems, check all your wiring, buy some pot or contact spray cleaner from Radio Shack and try cleaning all of your contacts thoroughly.

Any more questions, you can email me at howard@fmadirect.com

Thanks

Great explanation, Howard - exactly the type of info I needed to know... and I'd not even got around to e-mailing yet! That's top service in my book.

Looks like I'll have to give Aurorra a call and get the PC interface ordered as I'm still running v2.24! I think I've covered everything else you mention (cleaning contacts etc.). At least with the info you've provided I now can methodically work through everything again if the problem ever returns.

Thanks, Mike

Just a quick update on the issue in case anyone else encounters this code and is running old firmware.

After updating to v2.26 the error appears to be fixed. Thanks to all
