Has anyone tries the hk401b gyro from hobbyking and what is a good cheap servo combo for this heli, maybe something from hobbyking? I tried the bluebird 661 it is fast but gets hot on the gyro and does not work in digital mode. Others have said it is no good for the tail and I found this info after I bought it so now I am looking for a different servo.I know futaba servos work but they are expensive and I am trying to keep it on a budget for my brother who wants to get into helis and doesnt have a lot of money. The 661 servo seems to be a nice servo but better suited for the cyclic. Any info on the gyro and a good servo combo would be appreciated.

An idea of what type of heli and what size of heli, would be a good starting point to enable people to advise you.

Good luck

Good point I must have assumed everyone knew what I needed it for because I did. It will go on the hk500gt also from hobbyking.

Dont skimp on the tail -- IMHO its the one place you dont want to go cheap -- will only cost you more in the long run :0)

You may have to modify the servo mount , but this might be your best budget bet :

Hey this one works perfect for me. I even have one on my 450 with the HK 401b. Lock perfect. Might not be the fastest but for what I do it does the job.

IT'S NOT 3D I'M TRYING TO GET IT UNDER CONTROL

Granted it is important.....
BUT the 401b is a great gyro for the money. Some of them work, and some of them dont out of the package. Ive been using one on my 450 for 3 months now, and Its been every bit as good as the real 401 was.

I never said the 401b didnt work or wouldnt work or only worked part of the time -- the post title was cheapest I can find kinda deal -- I mearly stated to not be so cheap on the tail as it will probabaly cost more in the long run. Man how quick folks want to jump on the it works -- it doesnt work wagon -- thats why my post was vague -- cheap in general

So what was your servo recommendation , other than don't go cheap , which the man obviously already has because he is using the G401B , and he was asking for a cheap option for the tail servo ?

His first post also asked if anyone was using the G401B , so people stating their experience with that gyro would seem to be pretty much on topic , don't you think ?

If you want to set the rules about what response is appropriate and what isn't , why not start your own forum ?

I apologise to Flyride for going off topic .
