Saw the scale helis in Dec AMA mag, got Bit by the heli bug again, dragged out the (nitro) Gmp cobra, got it flying, restored a schulter superior, friend gave me a "light" graupner bell 222 scale fuse... (almost fit the cobra) Decided that electric was the way to go with scale helis...heard about the HK-600 GT from Hobby king

I know nothing about electric heli setups ...So I've read the posts getting some education....

Scale flying style/No 3D/No Inverted
want to keep the batteries cool (longer Life)
Want some extra "military power" to get out of a "bad situation"....
will have to handle the extra weight/flying load of a scale fuse....
will probably need a torque tube upgrade and extended boom...
(I know align has this) where to find a XL boom?

recommendations for plug and play..
from the scale heli folks useing a Trex 600 frame...????

Heading for the Really DEEP END of the last frontier... Scale Electric helicopter aviation.

HEEEELLLLPPPPP.....

the trex600 and other electrics are a great way to get into scale. there are however many things to learn. a pod n boom machine does well on its own. add a fuselage and things change and you will have to make changes to accomodate. weight plays an important role in how an electric performs and for how long. if you do a machine that you may want to put a multibladed head on, research it and learn about the motors and batteries. that HK600 looks very interesting and at an interesting price too
lots to learn here, stay tuned

you are not kidding... big learning curve...
kv ratings (lower is better for scale)..maybe??
gear ratios
head speed calculations (http://www.heli.dacsa.net)
2/4/6/8/10/12S...(I know # of cells)
esc ratings (gota match the amps being drawn)
gota keep the batteries and motors cool if you want long life..

My brain hurts already...might be easier just to put in a turbine, at least I Know how to run those... I'd probably melt down the rotor blades...LOL... kero prices going up...solar power is almost free ... lipos getting better and cheaper by the hour....obviously the way to go..for scale.

trex 600 HK clone...

motor?
esc?
batteries?
xl boom
like torque tube drives due to making booms longer or shorter as needed for scale use..

research... continuing.... guys...feel free to suggest away..
