I am now starting to learn some of the electric aspects of these machines.
Since I am not going to take my Vario or any of my other gas machines to the desert for this deployment I purchased a exi 450 clone. I am running a spectrum 7 radio. my question is, what set up should I use for batteries, esc and motor. I already have gyros, and servos, and lots of trex spare parts saved up for the deployment but am having a hard time figuring out what to use for the electrical aspect of it. I have been using the search and getting all kinds of different things. very interesting i think... I am trying to figure what the average set up will be to just burn blade time while i am overseas wasting time. type of battery, esc, charger, sizes and so on. this electric stuff is confusing the hell out of me right now....
any one want to take a shot at helping me out so I can start having a good understanding/ and good shopping list....

if it's a trex450 clone, why not go with some align combo ESC/motor stuff? Should be perfect for you. no?

I agree 100% with frebou, the align motor and esc combo should be pretty easy to get. Stick with the 35X esc and the newest offering of motor that comes in the pro kit is pretty darn strong. Keep tabs on the e clasifieds and take a few sets wth you.
For batteries get some Zippies or Turnigy, 30/35C 2200mah 3S packs, inexpensive good power and mine have held well so far. I'm not reall current on chargers, maybe some one else will help out there.
