I know there are some videos floating around with these cameras...

I just started playing with one myself...still trying to figure out the proper placing and angle of the "Hatcam"

but check it out...not bad for a $15 camera off ebay

I had to land due to a loose boom support mid piro funnel...but I will be playing with this setup more in the future

camera...
that short video of mine was roughly 80mb

so 8mb is barely enough for anything...I have a 4GB card in mine and paid $14 at radio shack for it...

I suggest getting at least a 2gb micro sd card...

downloading stuff is easy...you can just hook up the camera to your PC and download directly...or save the file locally and upload to youtube that way.

you just hook the camera up to the usb port and then go into "my computer" and look for the "removable disc" icon for the camera...click on that and then click through to "DCIM" and you are in the area where your pics/vids are..

Hope that helps

Anthony

BTW...I just went out at lunch to grab a quick flight...and made this...my 2nd attempt of the day

Unfortunately 1/2 way through a piro funnel the stupid boom support popped out again...I know I need to fix it

FYI--I haven't flown really in 2 or 3 months...so I know I suck...but I am pretty surprised at how good this little $15 camera works...

hell yea Anthony, that is decent! What software on windows are you using to draw it off your cam and to produce it? That has to be something to do with it as well?

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

To pull it off the cam onto his HD should only be a matter of drag & drop, like using a thumb drive. That's how my ancient Oregon SciFi ATC-1000 works. It weighs 5 bloody ounces and isn't half as sharp a pic as that keychain cam.

Gotta order one of those.

Camera
Shawn....Gimbal is right...no special software needed ...you just drag and drop from the camera to the hard drive...

so my Total investment into this camera is $15 on the camera and $14 on the Micro SD 4Gb card

so this only cost $29 total

looks great! Ill have to get one of those.

To comment, though. looks like conditions were perfect for that camera, alot of sunlight shining from behind the camera, no clouds, no backgrounds etc etc. I bet on a day any darker than that or a day with alot of clouds the video wont be half as good.

I got one of these little guys coming after seeing Ron's. We put it on my Funjet and the video it took was FANTASTIC, especially considering how much it is. Anthony, you have to get Ron to post that video!

Sweet. Quality is decent for the price.

I was just browsing the net and saw these...should make it easier to capture a flight by yourself while you listen to music.

Looks like you nailed it on the head about the weather..

I filmed this video today ...it's sunny and nice out...but very overcast...

and the quality is not that good...so it appears these $14 cameras like LOTS of light

Yeah, these cameras are fun. Here is one I did last weekend. I strapped it to my trainer plank and tried to chase another plane. It worked okay, but was pretty fun doing it.

Here is a vid I did in Feb with my 450.

I have also done the hatcam trick with it, it works pretty good. These thing are definitely light sensitive. The file size is double in bright sunlight than it is in cloudy conditions.
