Does anyone make a 40-60 size D or H model Huey? Preferably a 50/600mm size model.

Thanks Ray. Close. I really like the looks of the D and H model where the tailboom attaches to the fuselage, compared to the A,B,C,and M models. I know Vario makes a D model, but I don't want a large one yet.

I'd like to see a D model also. I've been checking around too. If you find one, let us all know.

D/H Differences
If I remember correctly, the major diff between the two was the rotor diameter. The "D" was manufactured in very limited production, once Bell realized the High/Hot requirements in SEA. So they incorporated a Balonga splice where the TB mounting was and put on a longer set of blades, increasing the diameter to 44". I don't recall any major changes to the T53L5??, but can't be sure....been a long time since I saw them being built-up at "Hotel 6" Ton Sa Nhut...
So I would think It would be pretty impossable to tell the differences..
Just my recallections..

There is a Huge differance between the D Model and the B model. Engine size is a T53-L13 and 44' rotor. The fuse is stretched and the cargo door is longer with a hinged door behind the pilots seats. If you look at a B and D model next to eachother you will see a noticable differance. I crewed on a D for 10 years in the Army. Good luck finding a D model for a 50 60 or 500 size. I will be making a mold for one here in the near future. It will be a long project but I think if I do it right I can sell them.
