Here is the biggest motor you can fit a Logo 700, it's the new Scorpion 5020 motor

Shoe-horn in a motor get's a new meaning, you have to loosen the screws for the frame to get it in, and I had to trim the frames just half a mm to make it get good contact with the maingear.

Fredrik,

That's insane

I thought however that since the 700 is being created from the ground up, it's frame will be designed wider to allow larger motors.

I would hope this is the case anyway.

Mikado 30mm

This version is actually 32mm mounting holes (will be changed to 30mm)
You can fit it if you align it sideways in the 30mm motor mount, but the screw will hit the maingear, so you need to use a button head type of screw, or dremel down the regular bolt.

Ouote from HeliMan Dave: "I thought however that since the 700 is being created from the ground up, it's frame will be designed wider to allow larger motors.

MrMel's reference to the "Logo 700" in his post is really a reference to a Logo 600 "stretched" to fly bigger blades, or what will soon be the Logo 600 "SE" from Mikado. Both use the original Logo 600 frames, and the Scorpion 5020 is the limit that will fit in those frames.

The real Logo 700 that's coming from Mikado will have different frames. Big motors will not be a problem .

Thanks Dave. That makes more sense. I think someone should come up with a specific name to differentiate the "stretched" Logo 700 (from a 600) and the REAL Logo 700 that Mikado is designing. Or maybe just the a designation like Logo <700 or even s700

Nice, I was eyeing that exact motor up the other day.
Measured the frames, and didn't think it would fit.

I'll be really interested in the datalogs from that motor. Swinging 690mm ?

Yes, its currently Radix 690mm

Technical it would perhaps be L690SE since its bigger than the L600SE coming...

very impressive mr mel. Does it hold headspeed under load better than the 4035 series? i would think so because of the larger stator diameter. One thing i think about when setting up my e-birds is something i heard you once says (well not say but write

Its not about sheer watts, its about holding headspeed under load with minimal watts

or something to that effect. I'm thinking this motor will be pretty good at that!

Dave,
Have you seen the new logo 700? My friends and i are VERY anxiously awaiting its arrival, though he'll probably get it first (darn you ron)

I'd love to see kyle smack the 700 around a bit!!

How is the weight of the 5000 series Scorpion motor compare to the 4000 series? Does the Jive 120HV have enough capacity to handle that motor?
