Here's the story:

Converted my Trex 700 into a gasser using the HeliBug conversion kit.

You can read all about it here: HeliBug 700 Conversion

Used everything from an existing, fully working, trex 700. Magnets were already installed and the governor has been working for at least a year. Once I got everything installed, I set my normal curve to 0-100 linear and set the endpoints (push button on gov). Using a X9303, I set the governor to 30% gain in the governor menu and took to the skies. At this point everything "should" be good. But here is what happens.

1) Any attempt to turn on the governor results in 100% throttle
2) I tried mounting the sensor to pick up from the engine magnets, same results.
3) I put the sensor so close to the bell that you probably couldn't get a hair between the two, to ensure a proper read.
4) I have watched the light go off/on as I engage the clutch very very slowly. It works by hand and works by engine.
5) I have tried every gain setting from 0-100 with the same results
6) I have turned off the built in governor menu and tried using the ATV's of the gear channel directly - same results.
7) Just to be certain the background curves weren't messing things up, I ensured my v curves on idle 1/2 where 100-50-100. I even left the normal curve at 0-100 linear for the test. Still goes wide open.

No matter what, this thing always goes to full throttle when engaged.

The only thing I haven't tried is pulling the governor off my 600 and seeing if that works. I haven't done that "yet" because everything on this one "did" work, and still should work. Lights are flashing, sensors are registering, etc.. I have no reason to believe it would stop working in the couple of days it took to convert the heli to a gasser.

Does anyone have experience (in english) using this governor and what steps were taken to achieve the desired results? Is there some hidden trick I am missing? On another site, someone suggested to try turning both magnets to the same poles so I get 2 pulses per rotation rather than 1. Not sure about that, but I suppose that is a possiblity. I don't want to do that until I see if anyone else might know exactly what is goign on. I will be forever thankful of whoever can help me figure this one out. I hate being beaten by a gizmo. I just hate it.

Removed: Removed last comment about magnets. More testing needed to rule out the double magnet idea.

Very funny comment
I did not know that experience came in different languages. Then I thought perhaps you were talking about someone coming online and offering assistance in French. It seems that this happens so often on this forum.

Now I've seen (and actually commend) some who come here with English as a second language(ESL) and do as well if not better than some here for whom English is a first language (EFL).

At any rate, could it have anything to do with the different ranges for the different governors? Since the gas engine is running in the 10 to 13K rpm, could it be that your governor starts around 13K or above?

Possible, but the manual for the governor says it overates between 10500-21000

So at the lowest setting it should work. I still have more testing with double magnets where I get 2 pulses per revolution. I would suspect this would cut everything in half...which could limit me on the top but I would certainly welcome not being able to go high enough over not being able to go below full throttle.

Someone also suggested changing the geometry of my servo arm to build in some mechanical expo. They referred to it as the malorie technique.

And when I was referring to the english language, I was really just not wanting links to spanish or french sites. Unfortunately I don't speak those languages and google translate butchers them. Seems like it messes up some of the most important words and things just get confusing. I certainly meant no offense.

None taken
It just made me laugh a little.

The Malorie mechanical mix works really well.

I use the Stator Gator on mine.

I agree the dbl magnets would seem to make it run really slow.
There are some post here about one of the magnets has to be set so that it is reverse polarity.

Is there a fail-safe position for the governor? The GV1 has you set the idle, high and off throttle positions.

Since the throttle curve for a Gasser is different in that half open on the butterfly is actually full throttle, could it be that the governor is expecting the same range as for the Nitro engine?

lejon, I bet you are right. When I was messing around with it, I was able to get it to hunt a couple times. So it was "trying" to do something, it just couldn't do it right. When I get off work today, I will go back to the drawing board on my mechanical setup and try again with the magnets as they are supposed to be (1 pulse per rotation). I have a good feeling about this.

Align Governor wouldn't work. MultiGov pro wouldn't work. Futaba GV1 works perfectly. Thanks for all the help. I am up and running perfectly now.
