Hi

I've recently got a CSM SL630, with the hitec Hsc 6965 high speed servo, this combo isn't working to great. So I decided to maybe replace the servo with an Align 620 digital servo.

Now I would like to know can the align servo support the Frame rate link with the SL630 or should it be remove.

I'm running a the align govenor at 1900rpm and in forward flight the tail is sometimes very unstable.

Anyone with the SL630 and Align 620 servo comibination on this site. Please post your comments so I can decide on my purchase.

thanks

I run a CSM720 with an Align 620 servo , basically the same gyro , so you should be fine . I'm using a frame rate of 333fps .
However , if your tail is wagging in FFF , it sounds like you may just have too much gain set on the gyro , too long a servo arm , or maybe a vibration on the heli . How much gain do you have set on the gyro ?

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Hi

I've increase and decreased gain a number of times, but it never holds steady. Currently it's very low at 39%, small tail inconsistent jerks is evident. THose never go away.

I usually manage to run between 80-100% gain with my CSM720 gyros , maybe you haven't gone high enough ?
Small jerks on the tail could even be down to engine tuning .
Have you turned the vibration filter on ?
How is the gyro mounted , have you used the aluminium mounting plate ?

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

I have enabled the vibration filter, it actually gets worse with it on. The engine is running very smooth, very cold at the moment after flights- which means it's a bit rich but it got pleanty of power. The govenor also works nicely.

Maybe I should just mount the 620 servo and then get back to you.

Thanks for the help so far.

If it's running too rich , that will cause little kicks on the tail .

Also check that the cables from the gyro are not being held so that they pull on the gyro .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Do you mean the servo wires? I'm not sure what you mean by cables.

If you mean wire, it could be a good option to check since I have servo braiding on my wires.
