Ok, i get the bone head move of the week award. I ordered my 500 SE and been anxiously awaiting it. Got the box today, and read the manual.. that is when the horror set in... I thought the 500 SE was the model that had the flybar head........ that is what I get for not reading the descriptions..... Anyone have any suggestions, I really didn't want to get a VBAR setup due to the cost.

Just save up for that vbar unit and forget about flybar. I know you said you didn't want to but if you don't go FBL you'll want to upgrade later. May as well do it now that you have the kit.

Yeah it is brand new.....nothing opened... That is the model I really wanted... I'm just afraid of setting up the V Bar. None of the local guys I fly with are flybarless, and I'm not an expert pilot, so gonna make it tough...

The SK360 is really nice and Sooooo easy to setup. The SK720 is even better and if nicely priced, would make a rough time to somebody wanting to sell his SK360... that's probably why they sell it now

V-bar setup is very easy.
And well worth the extra money, you certainly wouldn't regret it.

I would second that! If you take care of a few things (reaction direction, calibrating (center, ATV) your transmitter in the VBar) your Logo will fly really great right from the start!
Have a look at the videos and think through the process! It's really easy if you take a closer look at it!

If you really want a Flybar head. I have acomplete logo 10 head with bearings and head button that I don't really need anymore. PM me if you are interested and we can work something out. I was using it on my first Logo 400 to replace the original stock flybar head that has no bearings. You can see it in my gallery.

Flybars are a thing of the past. Go for the vbar, you will not regret it. Vbar is very user friendly and as OICU812 stated there are tons of videos and setup help online. There are also a lot of very knowledgeable guys on this forum, like MrMel, that will do all they can to insure your success. Flying FBL doesn't take anymore skill than flybarred and just think, afterwards you'll be the local FBL expert. I say go for it.

i have to agree, set up is a bit different, but in a way easier than flybarred because of the lack of mechanical setup. Lots of great resources on here, and the videos that both vbar and mrmel made do a great job explaining. the 500SE vbar will be a great flyer!!

Just take your time, go through it step by step and check back here any time for advice, we're glad to pay back the advice we've gotten in the past!

At this point shipping back to ReadyHeli and another kit shipped to you would add, say $50--or more?. New Mikado Vbar units don't need a gyro (less $160 for a good spartan you don't need) and don't need a receiver but do need two satellites (take off another $100 for a good receiver you don't need) and the extra expense is getting pretty small. The difference might be $150 or thereabouts.

Anyway, that's presuming you don't have these things already.

Something to think about,
Tom

nope, no tail gyro needed, the one withing the vbar is the best i've ever used. also, since its linked to the cyclic, the asesom thing is say your doing nose down (25 degrees or so) fast forward flight and really hauling but. if you pirouette slowly while doing so, you maintain the same heading because the vbar adjusts the cyclic as the tail goes around the heli. How cool is that!!!
