Is this because unit is lower cost more inexperienced people getting into FBL ? I see many threads duplicated by different members . I know you will have some issues with failure but is it actually failure Compared to Mikado VBar the align is not to my liking but it does work to a point .

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

I had good results with the Align 3G system, it flew great right out of the box!

I've since converted to VBar, it is a lot better.

I have to agree the 3g works well and Ive flown both but my vbar just seems to lock in better. the 3g is hard to beat for the money and has brought alot of people into flybarless.

I have some concerns on suitability of the power bus of the product for running 3x high current digital servos on swash of a stick banging 90.
But on the smaller ones I love it.
My 500ESP/3G combos is nothing short of fantastic.

i could never hold such a precise solid inverted hover before!

I love the Align system on my 700 but feel ive added more to go wrong , would be nice if Align came out with a Mk2 and integrated rx and gov. like what Mr Youngbloods system will be , would also be nice to have built in regulater and plug lipo directly into unit.

Im sure these systems will come

Ive got 3 units now and 1 was indeed defective from the factory basically it instant locked out on takeoff every time.

RMAed it and havent used that unit again yet but I'm sure its fine now.

will be flying my 3rd unit already flown well on Bill's machine on that bird this weekend.

Will be using the tips on mounting that the group over at the Freak have tested and found to work.

It flies ok.. but was expecting more from it so far.

I will be replacing at least 1 with a TotalG to test as well.

I talked to Leon Luke (Team Align) last weekend. Looks like he has problems.

Me: 'Did you solve the wobble? Does Edge blades help?'
Leon: 'Edge blades helps but does not remove oscillation completely.'
Me: 'Sometimes heli can oscillate like that when head is too stiff. Softer dampeners could help.'
Leon: 'Align does lots of testing with different blades and head settings to solve that problem.'

Basically Leon's last sentence confirmed that Align knows about the problem and it is there.

Maybe you need to review , "How to set up heli's 101" Instead of bashing some person all over the web because you have a problem with him and feel like the rest of the world cares! You should spend more time on the sim where time is needed,
You really seem to have a lot of issues with the fact that fellow flyer's seem to be able to toss their 3g's around pretty darn good. Seems to me that Mikado as well as other make's have had their fair share of issues. So, give companies a chance! Remember that in reality, if it were not for Align, and Thunder Tiger, this hobby would be no where near as advanced as where it is today! They changed the market!

I did an interesting test yesterday. I call it the battling the Vibe 500 which I don't really like as an airframe...way over priced for a suped up Helidirect HDX.

Well here is the low down, there is a slight vibe and we cant find it on the heli so I said screw it lets try fbl systems on it.

3G: Cyclic was pretty acceptable...actually almost as good as the V Bar feel but not as good in piros but not too bad. The tail hated life and all it did was wag no matter then gain setting. And yes I do know that there was a vibration BUT nothing that you wouldnt see on a nitro heli. Inconsistant piro from left to right and noticable whip to the left.

V Bar: Cyclic feel was pretty much the same as the 3G but you can tell the piro opt was there. THE TAIL STILL WAGGED! The wag wasnt nearly as bad but it was still there when I went up and down in tail gyro gain. Pretty consistant piro rate left to right.

My HUGE point here....vibration is most likely the cause of some of these issues seen now. Ive had too many people tell me their setups are prefect but something wasnt working. I get my hands on it and find unbalanced tail blades, something bent, damaged motor, bad bearings ect. The tail on a 3G should be still if there are no vibes...

Just to add I have flown a 3G T500 that I personally setup that did not wag the tail but the was absolutly no vibration and I increased the size of the tail blades(KBDD 30 sized). Also a T600 with 3G that I helped setup and the tail was still. Though in both cases the cyclic could not be tuned to make the bounce go away and maintain a reasonably 3Dish cyclic speed.
