The the other day i was at the field with my logo 400 and tweaking the vbar setup. I was basically flying for a minute or so, landing, plugging the vbar unit into the laptop (helicopter powered up and transmitter on) making some changes, unplugging from the computer and contuing to fly. I did this 6 or 7 times. Once, my collective jumped when i plugged the vbar unit in. I looked at it and said "huh" wander what that was. One of the other times, with my controller sitting on the ground and with the throttle hold engaged, i plugged into the computer yet again, and the throttle started spooling up. I held the head and it continued to try and then it stopped. No damage but it was a bit scary. I'm not sure what was going on, now i'm a little worried to plug in my 12S logo 600 without the motor wires disconnected. Anyone else have this problem? Any idea whats causing it? The odd thing is, the throttle doesn't even run through the vbar unit.....

If you have thr hold engaged it should not spool up, ever!, so you either have a problem or maybe you missed it on the occasion. I did find with the new sat units that i had to increase neg endpoints on a hacker setup or it would start up (but not with thr hold engaged). So if i initialized the vbar with thr hold enaged everything worked fine but if started normally it would spool up. As mentioned though the problem was fixed by increasing neg atv.
I would not disengage the wires as 2 of my friends smoked their esc's when they did that.
Also check your thr hold settings if you initialized in normal but have pos values in thr hold it will spool up. I keep thr hold to zero value then initialize vbar with thr hold on..

Common sense may not be common after all

Why would you be scared of a 12s Logo 600 motor mistakenly spool up?

Is it a vBar with satellites?

If so, You need to calibrate the throttle signal to read 100/100 in the vbar.

Mr MEl on sat version is it also neccessary with jive to set endpoints in softare, i did adjust the value with the hacker setup as there was a problem but did not adjust it with the TDR and the jive as it was working fine.
Also just to save myself some time checking, can the endpoints for the esc being set with the esc unplugged from mainboard, i.e is the value transmitter or esc dependent?.

the problem lies in the decoding of the signal;

a) VBar "default" is one thing
b) Received signal is another

If your controller ARMS with a) and then you get a signal b)

Or reversed in your case I guess b) then you connect the computer and for some reason loosing the signal a)
the motor can start.

Unfortunally you cant get 100/100 in the vbar AND perfect endpoint with the Jive (adjusted ATV as I speak about in the Video)

Best you can do is the following if you have spektrum;

Reset the Jive with ATV 150/150 in the radio (and a 0-100 curve)
Program Mode 4 (or 11) and 9 if you want to.
Then lower ATV using the method in my videos (you will end up with radio 110/110
Raise atv so vbar reads 100/100 (will require 117/117 in the Spektrum radio)

you will have a little "buffer/overhead" but its not much, that's the best you can do.

Thanks,got it, now i'm just wondering why it has to be so complicated surely with todays technology can be plug and play?
Or at least spell it out in the manuals.
BTW is the value of 117 bothways standard in all spektrum /jr or are there small differences, otherwise i'll just take the shortcut!

The problem is that there is no standard, JR, Futaba, Graupner all has their standard for min/max pulse length...
