I brushed the dust off my Raptor 50 yesterday, after 2 years of being neglected due to flying other models. After 2 hours of trying, I couldn't get the engine to run reliably. If I got the mixture correct to get it into the hover, within 15 seconds or so, the head speed would slowly rise from ~ 1700 to 2200 revs, and the mixture would be so lean that the engine often stopped. If the mixture was richened, it became almost impossible to get it into the hover. The transition from the idle mixture to the main needle seemed to be quite smooth, and by the time it was hovering, it was running on the main needle. The engine itself hasn't seen much action, so I'm wondering if the fault could be caused by perished fuel lines, or blocked fuel filter.

P.S. Running on Bekra 5%

Could be perished fuel lines but a webra engine that wont hold a needle setting is a classic case of rear bearing failing. It has always been the case in any of the webra engines i have. Webra engines are designed to run on no or very low nitro fuels so thats not the problem if u are useing 5% fuel.

If it doesnt move and its meant too... use WD 40. If it moves and its not meant too...use duct tape!

Bearings could be it but I would also take the carb apart and give it a thorough cleaning with some carb cleaner.

Sounds like it's loosing exhaust pressure in flight - hence going lean

Ensure the muffler is not leaking
Replace the muffler pressure line
Replace the fuel tank bunk in case it's perished
May as well do the clunk line while you are there
