Note:
If the boom has broken due to overtightening the clamp or whatever then it definitely was no boom-strike.
Boom-strikes are not caused by failures of the boom or related parts.
So one have to keep that in mind to not mix it up while searchig the cause.

Boom strikes mostly are due to bad worn out dampeners, blades too loose happening in a moment of overloading the head/loosing headspeed or broken blade holders.

It would be nice to know in what situation during the flight this issue appeared. Normal, upside down, forward-backward, loaded or not...?

I looked at the boom clamps, sure you could overtighten them and crimp the boom however it's not an excessive gap that in the clamp. If you aren't paying attention you could do some damage though. I still would like to see some pics of this crash. I'm wondering how the rest of the heli held up?

MA
We have not seen any pictures of the actual failure so we don't even know if it really happened. Some people have offered to help finding the root cause of the problem but without been able to see the part that broke it is impossible.

So far all this post has created is bad PR for the Fury 55 since there is no evidence of it actually happening. I only have T-rexs and I am thinking about getting a MA Fury. I thought this post would bring something to the table ( that's why we all have posted here) but it has not.

Quick UK offers a nice tail brace that doesn't pinch the boom like the design from Align or MA.

From my perspective being an owner of a Fury 55, I will say that you do need to be careful when tighten up the front boom clamps as well as the boom support clamp to not over tighten them. If you look at some of helis out there, you do not have worry about over tightening them, but rather getting them tight enough. E.g. On my T600 I had to put some tape on the boom as to allow the boom clamp to ‘lock’ the boom and on my T700 I had to wrap the front of the boom as the front boom clamp would not ‘lock’ the boom. So in either case as the builder you need to take care to make sure it is build right.

Yes, the boom snapped first, then up into the blades, therefore a boomstrike

Gonna post the pics of the damage in an hour
After a crash i put the damaged bird away and dont even look at it for a few days, then i break it out and work on fixing it. Thats just how i deal with the aggravation.

I guess you didn't get the point. It's not a hijack at all. I have a Stratus and I like MA.
