My Hats Off To Align On The 700 LE
I've just finished the major assembly of my new 700LE. I'm waiting for the engine and muffler, and still have to install the electronics. So far I am very imressed with the 700LE. I had a few 600N's before and quite honestly was disappointed with them. I was a little reluctant to get a 700N, but the 700 LE is beefy and seems to have hit the mark sqaure on the head in every aspect. My hats off to Align for putting together a great product!

Doug I only added one extra thing to mine.
I added the metal start shaft bearing blocks ($25) in my 700's and the gear mesh and gear life is fine no stripping at all. There is no movement of the clutch bell/start stack with that block. Took the plastic one out of a used 700 I bought that i was rebuilding and refurbishing and it had wallowed allowing the clutch bell/start stack to move around. Put the metal one on and no movement at all with perfect gearmesh.

Thanks for the heads up on those things. I'll replace the clutch liner when I put the engine in and look into the metal bearing block. If my clutch gets sprung I'll go with the quick UK clutch. Anyone have a part number for a heavy duy clutch liner?

Love my 600 LE!

Flys like its on rails. Light, easy to control, lots of pop. Only thing with most of them is you'll get a high engine RPM spool up from the excessive gap on the thin clutch liner. I replaced mine with an EVO 50 liner and it works perfectly. Also upgraded to the green TrueBlood dampeners. This machine ROCKS !

Wait until you fly it. Mine went together with no issues and no trim or tracking adjustments were needed on its maiden flight. I liked it so much I bought another kit but its the pro with a yellow canopy.D. Lee.....t.Born again.t.....

I expect the plastic block gets worn for two reasons:
1. The starter shaft was not checked at engine installation stage for best free runnintg. This accomplished by not using the sholdered screws for the engine bearers but ordinary screws so the engine can be aligned properly.
2. The bearings need to be glued into the plastic so the the outer race cannot move.

Do not try to use a QuickUK HD clutch with a new stock clutch bell and liner. The close tolerances of the QuickUK HD clutch are meant for a "slightly worn-in" clutch bell and liner. So run a few tanks through your heli with the standard clutch bell and clutch first, then you will be able to use the QuickUK one without problems.
The problems I speak of is that the QUK Clutch will not be free to spin with a new clutchbell, they will basically be hard to put together and will be "locked in" as one piece practically. This is why the QUK clutch is best used with a slightly worn-in (broken-in) clutchbell.

Hope this helps you avoid what I and others encountered at our own club field.
Also 700N and 700LE are the same animal with some very minor differences. Most are merely cosmetic, so both kits were pretty well designed by the Align Co. No kit in the world is perfect, but the 700N/700LE ones are damn close, and for the price you really cannot beat it much.
