The Synergy N5 v Vibe 50 ??
I'm sick of hearing some JR pilots here in the U.K. saying how desperate they are to get a Synergy N5 as soon as they're released and dump their Vibe 50. I wonder how much of this is due to wanting the latest/greatest new thing, or if there is a genuine feeling that the N5 will be so much better than the V50.

I'll be keeping my Vibe 50 for sure, but I wonder what you guy's all think ??

Hi guys

Of all the machines i have sold, I miss my Vibe 50 the most.

It was great fun to build, work on and most importantly.... fly.

Selling it was a big mistake.

Desperate!!!!!!! That's a little extreme don't you think? Sounds like your flying buddies think a new heli is going to transform their flying abilities.

The Question is Will Synergy survive?

Or will the N9 go the way of the "heli boy," an antique? Unless Matt B. or some else picks up the ball, the N5 will be no more than a pipe dream.

And there is nothing like good quality used parts, let them sell there Vibe 50's.

And as far as the Topic goes, you need to rename it "Pipe dream" v "Reality".

Unless the N5 is a big step up from the N9 - it will not threaten anything - even the Frenzy 50!

No 50 is like the Vibe 50 in quality or flying ability in my opinion. Just a shame it costs 40% more than it should!

I know what you mean about the Vibe 50 costing 40% more than it should, but it's 2 years old now, and no surprise at all that it's still widely regarded as the best built 50 size heli out there.

None of us care to admit it, but quality costs and those of us that still own a Vibe 50 are very glad indeed that we do.

Looking to the future, I do wonder if we'll soon see a Vibe 50v2 or perhaps a Vibe 50SG to go with it's bigger brother. We'll see.

I don't think that is even a question. Besides, even if it were not to survive, The Synergy will go down in history as one of the BEST flying helicopters ever produced, Bar None!!!

Come on fella's, no one is trying to slate the N9 heli here, we're simply looking for opinions about the N5 v Vibe 50. A good few of my flying pal's have N9's and they're very good, but in some ways very similar to my Vibe 90SG in that they're expensive to repair when you break them.

So far at least, it's widely anticipated that the N5 will be coming in at around the same price as the Vibe 50 kit.

Friends please !!

If I wasn't such a devoted JR fan, I'd have an SDX by now... After looking at it closely, and seeing it perform the way it does, I must admit that its a very very nice kit...

The N5 also looks really good in Matt's hands. I guess all we can do is wait and see what happens with the management of the company and production line... Last I read on their site, 500 kits were ready to ship...

Yeah, two years into the model's life*. Compare the N5's price at that age to the Vibe's price now and you will be comparing apples to apples.

I would love to build and fly a Vibe, but the local opinion has stated that I should not invest in it (two opinions only - take that for what its worth).

As far as the SDX: I just bought one. I found a GREAT deal on it and jumped in. 5 flights into the model's life, I will say that I am enjoying it. Not yet as "poppy" as my T-Rex 600NSP (430 flights old and cannibalized for the SDX), but it only has 5 flights on it and really isn't setup yet. Even though the frames are ancient, the head is all new and I'm digging it.

All that said, the SDX is still a place-holder until the N5 is released....

-Drew

*: My best guess at the Vibe 50's age.

Hey guys, - contrary to 6-7 years ago, today there are a "million" different helis out there and "2 million" copies of them will soon spam the market. Everyone has their own opinions about price, servicing prices, crash durability, flying ability etc. Few will agree with each other as usual.

Fact #1 is, there are MANY good to excellent flying machines - some VERY expensive and some VERY cheap. I have and have owned quite a number. My latest bought (and sold) machines were Frenzy 50 and 90 V2´s. Both look excellent, and the guys that fly them like the flying abilities. I bought them to see how well they compared to the Vibes. they did not at all! - Quality is hard to copy!

Fact #2 is, ´most of us are "helicopter freaks", just like sport fishermen. We NEED to buy new helis and stuff all the time - no way we can just stick to that "old, excellent and well proven" fishing rod!

My Vibe 50 is a GREAT flying machine - it's going to stay for a long time, but it's been updated with a Kasama FBL head!

And IF the N5 should come in at the horrific price of the Vibe - then it's a no-go for me.

/Henrik

I just purchased my mint vibe frame and a set of raddix all used and some new spare parts for $300.00. Not very expensive at all. I am putting in th YS.56 with b320 funtech pipe and should have her flying this weekend(if the heli gods are willing). I am very excited and have no issues with an older model especially when manufactured to these standards. You will not find another heli out their that when asked, what do I need to upgrade it? The concensus will say tailblades and fuel.
