Check your main T-Head bolts out folks!
Ok folks I came across this today.

So anyhoooo.. I goto lift my 600 up onto my endgate, I notice abit of a rocking feel on my head. I check and the (4) bolts that hold your t to the hub which is esentially your vbar head are loose! Well no big deal right? wrong! After tightening them, thinking all is good I go into flight get some drunk sailor looking stuff, immediately land. One of the bolts broke...

So to all of you I determined this fact. I am now going to use RED loctite on these 4 bolts! Reason is I have been using BLUE, obvioiusly if you smack it hard these will loosen up, gouge themselves and put far to much risk to you and your spectators, SO......

Please all of you check these bolts, use GREEN or RED, and feel better knowing this will not happen to you. I got lucky personally and went to all my machines tonight and put red on mine cause I just don't need that head coming off or dealing with this again.

I had this happen on one machine last summer, I dismissed it as me perhaps not having enough loctite on or missing it, so second time round I don't need strike 3, no sir!

Here is a picture of what I'm speaking of.

I am certain by using RED this is a non issue to be honest. I just wanted to post as manual states loctite but does not state which type is all, be well. ...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

It sounds like maybe the bolts worked loose and were being over stressed by the extra movement?

I am the paranoid type, I check almost every bolt every 5-10 flights

red or green is a good idea for sure!

A lot of blue won't do (full coating of screw?)

I guess I will have to be using green when I pick up my V-Bar head then. Scares me because that stuff doesn't come off.

Only the bottom bolts where slightly loose after abt 30 flights on my 600 (like 10degrees or so) which also made me think of using red there (i noticed this over the weekend). Was thinking of using red only on the bottom ones but after reading this I'll disassemble a red all four of them Better safe than sorry, once more thanks OICU ;-)
