Share your blades and paddles combination

I'm always looking for blades+paddles combination and tastes:

1.- Edge 693 + Rotortech 3D paddles with weights at middle.
2.- Align 690D + Align black paddles.
3.- Rotortech 690 3D + Align black paddles.

#1 is a great combination since I prefer the tracking and pop of Edge blades vs Align but they are slower so the RT paddles which are really fast hence the weights at middle. Downside is that RT paddles are so expensive.

#2 Is a great middle option since they are pretty fast and Align 690D really don't bog the head. Lack of pop compared with #1. BTW on my field almost every 700 owner flies this combo. Not a single problem, never an ejected blade or tracking problem.

#3 RT690 tracks awesome and are very efficient I placed them #3 since I haven't had enough time to test since I crashed at 3rd flight and nobody has them in stock the RT690 autos better than my Align or Edge IMO. Can't wait to get some to try a full RT setup

Tried Radix 710SB, 690SB and Torsion 690 (insane pop but slower) but I prefer the others. Tried Torsion paddles which are great but white, tried CY paddles and as usual in me I found them unstable with light blades.

Please share your combo and why

P.S: The "go FBL" is a bad joke. And I prefer the old flybar by now

We are on SWE 700DCN (700mm narrow blade) with 12g SWE 4mm paddles. But due to paddles being too light, 10g flybar weights are used.www.JustinJee.com

My fave combo before recently going flybarless:

703mm BBT Maniac 2
SWE 105mm paddles

My blades weigh about 176g, and I weighed the paddles at 11.5g each.

Very fast cyclic, but extremely smooth in FFF.
The most locked setup Ive flown.
Lots of pop, awesome 4 point flips and rolls.

Ive tried Radix and Super Stubs, V Blade 710mm and matching paddles.
Neither came anywhere near close to the Maniacs and SWE combo.

CY radix 690's with CY stubz paddles

Mine is super fast all around. I have drilled my stubz and turned them in so they are in further than stock. Made a huge difference on the response.

Thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming

I really will like to test gorn's combo. But Maniac are hard to find, RH used to carry them.

And SWE paddles are hard too. HeliDirect sells a lot of SWE stuff but only 3mm paddles

You can buy the Maniac blades from http://www.modelhelicopters.co.uk/a...Blades_Bbt.html

or http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/man...6cd2b93f561e1a3

Both are good stores.

As for the SWE paddles, yes they are hard to find in 90 size.

I buy them locally from http://www.perthrc.com.au

I did a lot of searching online for another forum member, and could find nothing in the USA or Europe.
Only found them in Korea and Singapore.

Rotortech 690 3D and Rotortech 3D paddles

Cyclic is crisp, tracking is laser straight, blades barely load up, AWESOME COMBINATION! But my 700's "personality" is different from the stock since I'm running the Avant head on it.

Well this is a matter of opinion (that many who have both helis share) but the Avant head is crisper than the stock 700 head. Not only that, there are MANY adjustments that can be made to suit your flying style. The stock 700 head has A LOT of delta, which is great for smack and 3D, but doesn't track as well as it could. Currently, I have 0 delta on my Avant head and the tracking is noticeably better than the stock head. The cyclic response is just as aggressive, but "cleaner". It's currently down right now and I'm probably gonna change the head settings to see if I find another setup that I like better than what I currently have. With that said, I'm sure that I could set the head to feel "worse" than the 700 (I'm sure not all combinations will yield favorable results). I like the adjustment and as of right now, it flies better TO ME! All who I have let fly it agree, it does NOT fly like a 700 anymore! Maybe they'll chime in......now where was I, dh/dt = BS-dx/dt
