Seems there is always a tradeoff. Are these blades heavier? Are they more or less efficient? If they performed aerodynamically better do you think they would have mentioned it?Wolves don't lose sleep over the opinions of sheep

I don't think they'd go to all that trouble to make these blades if they weren't aerodynamically better or less efficient than the current crop of blades. These are on a high performance full-scale heli.-----

It would be interesting for a company to design some for RC use, Im sure during testing they had scaled down models, Dont know how the adjustable flaps would be controlled though, mabe a wireless micro servo inside the blades?????Xtreme Power Systems, @Signs

its the blades that make the noice though, of course it would change the sound by changing the blades

i agree with the above statements though, i love the chopping sound of a heli. but i can definitely see the tactical advantage of these blades. it wouldn't even need to be on a stealth heli like the commanche, but even the Longbow Apache or Kiowa that have the habit of hiding behind trees.

I hear you but where is your source. Usually when there are advantages to a new design they mention them. The fact that none of the articles mention anything other than sound just makes me wonder about performance and weight.
