8917's with VBar
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snh23M0Nrog
I have not flown 8917's yet but watching how servos lock in on boot up they should rock . My 8717'S on same setup rebound on boot up .

Look at swash ,also no loud buzzing

This is with 8717's it hard to see but there is a difference, you can see the speed difference between the two .
I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

Ok I went from align servos to 8917's all I did was changed servo directions on vbar program . I guess the align servos were fadeing under load ??? Heli bogs motor on hard pumps so I will need to lower collective a little . I do feel a difference in flight not realy speed but crisper , harder stops and transitions .It realy comes down to pilot preference I like that I can get repaired also I fly hard and know JR servos will handle it .

Now so far the difference in feel between the 8717's and 8917's is nominal except 8717's have a little backlash in gears and 8917's do not . Not yet anyways

So you are saying that you like the 8917's better?Nick
If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter

I don't really get the difference between the 8717HV and the 8917HV. The 8917HV is a lot cheaper but specs are similar to the 8717HV, so whats the deal?Nick

Marketing I think ?JR might have redesigned a problem and instead of telling us they do it this way . I can say that not much feels/looks different as you say but gears feel tighter .Looks like motor is coreless and deadband is different so maybe better for FBLI stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

I just bought three 8917HV servos for my new Radikal flybarless set up. I will be running a V-Bar set up. Should be sweet. Can't wait to get them in the air It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!
