trex 450 servo/gyro? problems
I recently started my first trex 450 build. I got it put together and started the final setup. I bound my dx6i to the 6200 receiver and thats when the problems started. The tail servo started humming. It was functioning but seemed to have limited movement and seemed slow. It is a hs 65hb. It then started to get warm so I shut it down. I removed it thinking it might be a bad servo and turned the heli back on to check things. It seemed like the gyro was also humming. I then put a different servo on and it hummed. I am not sure if I hooked something up wrong or what but I dont want to blow another servo or my gyro so any and all help will be very appreciated. Thanks

What gyro? Is the t/r linkage binding? It should be free to move. List the rest of your equipment so people can better help you.Heli-itis sufferer.

BTW, servos will hum or buzz if they aren't free to move or are jammed into the stops.Heli-itis sufferer.

If you are running your gyro in DIGITAL SERVO mode, get out the jam and butter, because that ANALOG servo will soon be TOAST.

The HS65 is analog, and as such, if you run it with a gyro in DS or Digital servo mode, you WILL burn up the servo amplifier. Analog servos cannot handle the 270 - 333 Hz frame rate coming out of a gyro that's operating in digital mode. They get HOT, and they FAIL. Plugging a second servo into the gyro, there's a good chance that you've damaged BOTH servos. You're lucky they still work at this point. You have severely stressed both servos.

Thanks for all of the help. The gyro is a gy-401b. The second servo was a cheap 9g unit so not a huge issue if its cooked. The hs-65hb isn't something I want to butter up again though. lol. I am not sure if the gyro is in digital or not. I will have to look it up and see how to set it up. Haven't got that far yet. Unless someone will kindly save me the process. Thanks again,
