Beam E4 Minivbar
I saw that there have been some posts on guys looking to go flybarless with their Beam E4. I have recently finished my build and thought I would share my setup.

Beam E4 Airframe w/ Mikado vbar FBL Head
Mikado Minivbar w/ 1 spectrum sattelite
Scorpion 2221-8 w/ 13t pinion 2800 rpm headspeed governed
Castle Creations ICE50 Esc
(3)Hitech HS-5065MG
Futaba BLS257 on the tail
Radix 325mm blades

After a little tinkering with the Vbar the Heli flys extremely solid and locked in. After flying Flybarred Beams for a little while and being very pleased with their performance, I have to say this isn't the same heli. I'm very partial to Beams as I have three so when I say this heli is twice that of its flybarred counterpart it is in no way cutting on the flybar version but expressing how awesome the flybarless turned out. For anyone looking to go FBL with the Beam you will not be disappointed. Anyone interested in my vbar setup feel free to PM me. One note though I would urge you to go with the Mikado 450 head. It fits the main shaft without any modifications and the geometry works perfectly with the vbar setup. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but I also like the two armed swash driver, just seems more balanced than with a single. One other note, the main shaft is set on a 3 degree pitch forward. I had to fabricate a small mounting plate sloped at 3 deg. for the minivbar out of CF to set the unit square to the shaft.

Nice setup! What packs are you running? How have flight times changed? I'm runnung an almost identical setup on my beam + flybar.

I was torn between going flybarless on the beam, and getting a bigger heli. The bigger heli won out in the end. Once I'm done with the 600, the flybarless beam will be the next project. I figure I will hold out for reports on the beam V2, and see if thier head works out as well.

I'm running the Cheap Hobby King Rhino 3S 2150 20C. I haven't really dialed in an exact flight time on the FBL but with an identical set up on flybarred I get 6 minutes of lite 3D. I would imagine the flight time on the FBL should be close. I have only had a few solid flights on the Flybarless since it never seems to stop snowing around here. It's maiden voyage on the final setup was done off a sheet of plywood over a snowy field. I will post an actual flight time as soon as I can.

My original plan was to wait on the V2, but with no dates on a US release I just got tired of waiting.

I know there are more guys out there with FBL Beams. I'm interested in the setups and how they fly. Please post what you got with some pictures.
