I think everyone to there own realy.

Back in the day when my 20c 6s 5000 mah flight power packs were costing me $370 a pop, I tended to be a bit more frugal about looking after my packs, now Im dealing with HK 3s - 6s packs that can be replaced from $15/20 each for the small ones to $50 for 500 size and $80 for big ones.

It was not too long ago a couple of 6s 5000 mah packs were more expensive than the helicopter itself!

So I want to make sure my new lipo pack is charged right the first time. I have an align 18c, 7.4v 1900mah lipo. I have the Triton Jr and balancer attachment for it. I should set it to charge at 7.4v and no more than 1.9 amps right? I had another of the same batteries a few months ago that only got about 3 or 4 charges out of it and the pack swelled up and split. Had to dispose of it but I can't remember what I was charging it at right now.

I would charge the 7.4 18c at 1.9 amps (1c) Its probly not rated to 2c.

Also if its a pack your not chargeing at the feild like a TX or RX pack like you are talking about, theres no harm in just chargeing at 1c if time is not an issue.

Im just saying if your at the feild with flight packs that are rated at 2c you can get more flights, when Im at home I just charge all my packs at 1c unless I am in a hurry, chargeing at a lower amp rate may make them last longer, then again it may not but it cant do any harm.

This is my pack for my 2 in 1. I charge before I leave in plenty of time. I just wanted to make sure I do the right voltage so if this one swells again and splits I know it wont be my fault. Is it okay to charge less than 1c?

Yes, ive always charged my Align 1900 at 1 amp less than 1c, I never got round to getting the right balanceing leads for it, so Ive been chargeing it at 1 amp with no balancer for 3 years, seems OK a little bit oval shaped but works still.
