How to improve T-Rex 450 Pro out of the box, any tips?
Hi Guys,
Just wondering I have build together a Rex 450 Pro becuase I have an Indoor flight saterday but I wanted to have it plain STOCK like it comes in the box.

The motor is the new 450M together with the Align 35Ah speedcontroller, 14T and running HIGH TIMING and WITH NO GOVERNOR. Running Outrage NRG 35C 2200mAH 3S package.

+/-11 ILDE 1 and +/-12 IDLE 2 with about 8/9degrees Cyclic

But its really missing power apart from mounting a 15T pinion or 4S what could be done to improve the power of the heli?

I have another 450Pro with Hacker motor and speedcontroller and this has so much power, just fun to fly

Any tips ??

Dave

Every one I have talked to loves the power of their 450 pro. Mine is all stock and it has lots of power. This is a video of a guy that came and flew with us a few weeks back and he really flew it pretty hard and it too was all stock...

I wonder if you got a bad motor or something wrong.

More collective pitch, better, higher performance batteries, and perfect collective management.

4 or 6S is awesome though. I flew my 450 Pro on 4S and loved it.

i fly mine full stock with a hyperion 3s 2600mah pack.

has more power than i am comfortable with so my idle up is only at about 85%

i have only been flying heli's for 4 months so im not pushing it as hard as i would like but one of the guys i fly with is running the same setup as me with the old stock motor (pre-450m)and now a scorpion -8 on a 13t pinion and i have never heard a word about it being under powered.

are you bogging the motor down or are you just looking for more headspeed? im getting the idea that your feeling its under powered. how old is your battery?

+1 to kenn22golf about the collective management

6S =

- Cheap batteries
- Cool running
- Consistent HS from beginning to end of flight
- Un-boggable
- Longer flight time compared to 3S

Running the 14 tooth pinion on mine with the 450M is giving me good power. Are you running 100 % throttle? It wasn't until my h/s hit 3K that I started feeling some good power.Trex 700, Trex 500, Trex 450 Pro

I use these 1300mAh 3S packs to make a 6S http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/...?idProduct=9272

Cost less than US$20 + PP (around US$30 total) for one 6S pack. Ths becomes a disposible item.

No I have not tried 14T. 13T at 3150 rpm is more than I'm capable of handling right now.

I picked up the Outrage 1700KV motor from Helidirect for 29.95.. 4 Turnigy 1300mAh 20C packs for 8.95 apiece.. from HobbyKing..

Think I'll use a 14T and Ice 50 Governed to 3400 RPM.

This should be an interesting experiment...

Hi guys

I did the Finless tail grip flip. The geometry is much better this way. Whether it flies better, i don't know. I built it with the flip.

Having said that, most of the guys i have seen flying the 450pro are having tail issues and start upgrading the servo/gyro. Mine is great with stock gyro/servo.

Regards
Paul

I did the Finless blade grip flip. It works and it makes aerodynamic sense. In the neutral tail slider position, the tail rotor provides right compensation.. which is exactly what is needed.
