Stock KV1650 or Z-Power KV1100 motor?
Rebuilding a used bird bought from forum. Have both motors in hand. Which motor should I use?

All the best, Don

I thought the stock was 1750

I would use the stock until it fries then use the 1100, or try both and see which is better.

Try and compare the amp draw and watt specs of the two to make sure the 1100 is big enough.
Allthough in reality you realy need to know if anyone else has used the motor, I have found the motor specs the manufacturers put out dont seem to add up.

For example I put a z980 in my 500, according to the watt/amp specs the motor should have been nearly twice as powerful than the stock, where in reality it was about the same, its the same with scorpion motors the specs seem to be over exagerated.

EDIT: if its the 1750 xl I would use it as there good motors, but the 1700 L motors (maybe 1650) I found not so good so maybe try the 1100 if its up to the job, I think the 1750 xl motors came with the GF kits and the L motors came with the CF kits.

Hey, Spitfire and thanks for the answer.

We've studied the issue just a bit and seem to think the lower KV rating may warrant using a higher voltage pack, 8s with the KV1100 motor as opposed to the 6S pack for the KV1650. Looks like a higher rated ESC would come into play then.

The stock motor may now be a 1750, this bird is a couple years old. I'll put the stock one back as you suggest. Thanks.

If its a 75 amp esc I would use the stock, I found the 1750 xl motor was the best Ive ever had in my 600, better than the Scorpion 1100 kv I have now, I found the 1650/1700 L motor was the worst.

The only problem with the Align 1750 motors is they get really hot and dont last too long, that being said i know people who have run them for 3 years and still going well.

Theres no reason you couldent use the 1100 on 6s with the right pinion, but I would not recomend useing the 75 amp, 100 amp would be OK.

The 1100 kv you need 14, 15 or 16 tooth pinion, I use 15, the 1750 the 10t or better the 11t.

The Z power 1100kv motor is the same motor as the Century 600A 1110kv motor, it is recommended for a 600 size heli, i had this motor in my Logo 500 on 6 cells swinging 550mm blades and it was a rocket, i used a cc 80 amp esc. I went 8 cells so i sold the motor.
