Rave 90 vs. other 90 electric
First off, I am a CY Rave fan - I have the rave in 4S, 350 blade configuration and love it. Its been a reliable heli.

Just wondering what initial impressions are/what will be regarding the Rave 90 vs. lets say the Mikado product, which is going to release their 700.

I am in the market for a RAVE 90 electric and not looking to pit CY project against other project.

Just looking to hear impressions of how the 90 will be perceived from a performance perspective, especially using the Total G, which I am also in the market for.

Total G seems like it will be easier to set up then V-bar, and that is very appealing to me.

My initial impression is that CY products are quality mixed with reliability and perform well.

any thoughts?

+1

as far as the total G goes, it will be awesome and easy to set up. You will have the option of setting it up via computer or via the new G-view2 (button G-view) after the initial programming, most of the tuning will be done in the radio.

I have never used any CY helicopters before, but I do use some other misc. CY gear. If I was going to spend 2000.00 on a helicopter of this caliber or size, I believe it will be this one. His equipment just seems so flawless to me."I just don't Listen" "

Nothing is "flawless".

Especially not the Rave 450 in my opinion.

You are very right when you say nothing is flawless but I think CY products as a whole give excellent quality at a fair price. No way to make any product that EVERYONE is happy with but I think the ENV will be twice as good as any product that is in the same price range. I love the way my rave flys and only being able to compare it Align models, I know that it is superior in design. Im very excited to be building my Align 700, but that in no way gonna stop my from getting the ENV.

The rave is awesome! It just requires proper set up. Once you know how to properly mesh gears it is very close to flawless. If I were to change anything it would only be the designe of the lower jesus bolt, which sometimes can be a little tedious to install(very minimal issue) and the boom strut holders could be deeper. One other small thing is the lower canopy mount screw. Other than that this helicopter is durable, flies better than any other 450 I have flown including all trex 450's se,sev2, pro, and beam. From the reports I have gathered since owning one the furion can't hang and neither can the outrage. I truly think you would have to pry mine out of my cold dead fingers.

Dont want to start anything, I do like the way the Rave flies, I had 2 of them(1 flybarred and 1 with the mini-v)and was one of the people that had the heli when it first came out. I personally found some things in the machine that I was just not wanting to accept and I decided to keep my other 2 450 machines that I did not have the same issue with, which are the same brand and model to eachother.Xxtreme 800, TDR, 700E DFC, Mini Protos, T-450 DFC, Blade 130x, mcpx, nano

not every heli. is going to please everyone - thats why there is competition.

I was really just curious what people thought of the technical design aspect of the CY products in comparison to some of the other products that are coming out. Not which is better.

I am interested in the new electric 90 from CY, just not sure if it has the same power to weight as the mikado project.

Either way, I am going to give it a shot along with the total G.

Yeah it should be a popular heli I am sure. I am excited to see one fly in person. It is cool that it is designed for electric and nitro.

With the new Mikado 700 coming out though I am alomost 100% positive which one will have the best power to weight ratio.

There are enough helis now that everyone can find one that they like.

I like the look of the ENV and probably will get one. The only thing I don't care for is the battery mount. Hopefully CY will design a tray like the Joker's or TDR's for the electric ENV.
