Motor and pinion for Logo 600 v-bar
Hey guys,

My friend has now decided on a Logo 600 v-bar instead of a Logo 500 (wise choice ).

He has just bought the kit and it looks like it's the latest type (canopy vent cutout etc).

He currently flies sport and is after long flight times. Mild 3D will also be done later on and planned to be done on the same motor.

These will be the 603mm blades used:

http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/edg...fbl-p-7700.html

The heli will be running 10S Hyperion packs around 4200-4500mAh.

I was thinking of using the Scorpion HK-4035-560 motor but unsure if this is a good choice or on what pinion to purchase.

The Scorpion 4225-610kv LE motor is too "hot" for long flight times right?

Thanks for any advice guys.

Laurence

I have the exact same setup (L600, edge 603s FBL, and 10s G3VX 4200mAh)
my esc is Jive, and I have so-far tried the 4035-560, two Kontroniks and a Hacker A50ET (with which I'm currently flying). The 4035 is a real powerhouse imo, but you'll have to say bye bye to long flying times, much better all-around is the Hacker for me (or get a Xera, if you can ) while both Kontroniks worked even more effortlessly! If it wasn't for the price-tag I'd stick a Pyro in there but seems like an overkill at the moment, it would much better justify it's existence on a L700 !

Zmooth,

I think I'll be running the exact configuration than your Logo 600, I mean the Hacker A50 ET with the Jive 80 HV.

Do you have the A50 12L or 14L? What is the difference?

Are you using a 0.7m 6mm 17T herringbone pinion?

So you are saying that the A50 has similar power than the Scorpion 4035-560 but is more eifficient (meaning longer flights)?

Is the A50 a direct fit in the Logo 600?

Sorry for so many questions, any feedback is welcome.

Thanks,

Ricci.

Scorpion 4035-560, Mod 1.0 Main Gear and Mod 1.0 12 tooth Pinion for 3D, if you want simply sport or real mild up flying then 11 tooth Mod 1.0 pinion may do you....Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

I have both the Scorpion HK4035-560 and the X-Era 4030/2.5Y (560KV). The X-Era doesn't have as much raw power as the Scorpion, but I would consistently get about a minute more flight time on the X-Era (same types of flights, and your mileage may vary, of course). That said, the X-Era still has plenty of oomph...

+1 on OICU812's main gear and pinion recommendations. I'm currently using the Mod 1.0/12T combo on one 600, but will be switching to Mod 1.0/11T for longer flight times. (My other 600 has the Scorpion HK4225-610... so one 600 with a crazy power setup and one 600 with kind of a "duration" setup.)

A50 14L is 540kVA
A50 12S is 640kVA
I'm using the 640kVA with Mod1 main and 11T pinion. Here in Europe it's the motor that Mikado includes in the combo kit, and it's supplied with Mod0.7 and 15T pinion. Yes, it's a direct fit (including the counter-bearing) but def. not as powerful as the 4035. While it was fun, I don't miss the Scorps extra power for my flying (zmooth 3d (tm) ). What I do miss from the Scorp is the nice consistency, very smooth motor for it's tag ! ;-) Haven't been able to get the Hacker work similarly, despite numerous resets and setting-fiddling on the Jive... overall a great motor nonetheless ! Makes nice star-wars sounds too

Thanks Zmooth for your interesting feedback.

So I understand that your conclusions on Scorpion 4035 – 560 vs Hacker A50 ET motors are:

- Scorpion is more powerful and runs smoother
- Hacker is more efficient, provides longer flights with still good power. However, the Hacker does not run so smooth than the Scorpion with the Jive.

BTW, is your comparesion with the same pinion/gear ratio on both motors?

Maybe that the Hacker A50 ET would run better with the Hacker X-80-OPTO-PRO-3D ESC?

I personally prefer longer flights than tons of power, as my flight style is just FFF or mild 3D.

Ricci.
