not to argue but i think this statement is a little misleading. even in rc the flybar is very much a stabilizer.

On some helicopters, specifically Hiller helicopters, they DO have a flybar AND paddles that are used to change the pitch of the main blades for cyclic motion, and this is called a "Hiller" system. In this system, the swash only controls the paddles which control the main blades. The paddles have a gyroscopic stabilizing effect as they spin.

Bell pioneered the flybar-stbilization system. The swash moves a mixing arm that is also connected to the flybar. The effect is the swash more-or-less directly moves the blades, but the movement is dampened by the flybar through the mixing arms. Some of the models we fly mix the two together, which is where we get the "Bell-Hiller" mixing systems on some of our helicopters. Here, there are the Bell mixing arms that are attatched to the grips, but also links directly to the flybar to control paddle pitch. The links to the grips and flybar are 90deg apart on the swash to compensate for gyroscopic precession of the flybar. Then there are links back down from the flybar to the mixing arms on the grips again.

Pilots
These two fellows were in one of my Vario Birds.. the Bell 47 G-2, Now sold.

They are both 21st Century 1/6th scale action figures, in clothing and accessories bought on ebay. With what is available you can out fit tham any way you want. You can also buy custom painted heads as seen in this picture.
Richard

Is it just me, I thought all Helicopters flew in 3D......Hmmmm?
