Trex 500 tail shake with low head speeds....solution???
Well after replacing the blade axle and still seeing a slow bounce up and down "bobbing" along with some vertical stab oscillations I decided to again pull off a blade grip and get rid of the Feathering Shaft Sleeve Set (H50083). I am not a 3D flyer and would like to see a stable heli at lower hovering head speeds.

That plastic piece is hard and does not allow that much play expecially when using those harder black dampners. I am sure that the cold weather isn't any help and also when the battery comes down in voltage the headspeed gets lower (since on the Align ESC's the GOV MODE is useless!).

Now I am using the original greyish colored dampners, and also added a large (diameter) piece of fuel tubing in place of the plastic spacer. This gives it some what of a cushion which also was used on my XCell Fury's when I had them.

At hover now the heli is nice and stable at slower head speeds and still has the tight head dampening!

Nice fix there.
Yes that is a nice fix there. I had forgotten about the fuel tubeing trick but yes that is what we did to the MA helis back in the day.
Oh No Someone Please Stop Me Before I Go Broke With This Heli Thing!!

If nothing is bent (axle, head block, main shaft) and the blades are true.. you either need softer dampeners or you need a higher head speed. You might try some lubrication on the dampeners ..maybe...

If you'll really losing rpm at the end of the flight.. I'm wondering how much mah you're putting back in the batteries? You might be really discharging them?

About what head speed are you running?

head speed?
I am not really sure of the head speed at the low end but the high end is probably the max that is recommended with the stock blades. I need to get some batteries for my Tach!

Usually when I end the flight I have about 20 -25% left in the pack according to my Hyperion Duo.
