An idea for Mr. Brown: load the bed of that pickup full of teabags and drive around DC. Be sure the bumper sticker thereon affixed says "With apologies to Slick Willie, bigger gov't IS the answer!!"

For those of you who didn't realize what Brown is, I feel sorry. He is not a far right conservative. The people of Massachusetts knew that. The rest of the country NEEDs to know that.

This "vote along party lines" BS needs to stop!

They do the foolish party vote here too, stupid really. What gets real funny is watching them crybaby about it when they force the poarty linje and it causes elected officials to jump from one party to another.

They cry that it shouldn't be allowed but as far as I am concerned, I elected the turds to vote in my best interest, not the parties.

The whole party thing should be scrapped, each and every one of them needs to represent the taxpayer, the focus of the party is to protect the party, not the taxpayer.

SSN made a solid point in another thread when Fla and I wondered out loud why we were not arguing. He said that most people really do find themselves in the middle (not an exact quote but I think it captures his point) We tend from there to choose a polorizing side that suits us but all parties are really more simmilar than different.

Conservative or liberal, democrat or republican, it doesn't matter, they all share far more in common than have differences. Liberals want laws that force conservatives to do things their way, conservatives want that same thing. its who holds the power that matters to a party, after they have that power, they do the sames things the other party would have done, and the other party takes on the role of complainer of all things, even things they would do themselves if they held the power.

Get rid of the party and they only have the taxpayer left to represent. Seriously, the way it is now, they might as well be called the bloods and the crypts.

If it should be scrapped or not don't matter. We are stuck with it. It will not change anytime in the near future.

I would not argue that statement except to say that if the parties got back to their basic principles of Conservatism or Liberalism, the people would have clearer choices. That is:

Liberalism: Tax & Spend
Conservatism: Smaller Government & Less Taxes

Lets see what happens this coming November. I suspect we have a good chance of CHANGE.

I've said for a long time we need a 3rd party. But after the last several years, I can see where that would only make things worse. Just more gridlock. Getting rid of party affiliation is a good idea, just don't know how we could pull that off. The other thing I think that might help, is campaign finance reform. Hell I'd rather pay for it and put everybody on equal footing and get the corporations out of it, but I'm not sure how that is really workable either.

Thats why this coming November is going to be the most important election in modern times. If the Republicans don't get it, we are done for. Pure and simple.

You can propose another party all you want to. Hope for change all you want to. But, it will still come down to this coming November and the Conservatives if we survive or not.

Three or more parties is a waste of time, it always comes down to the two large ones batteling it out and the other parties just split the vote.

It happened to you guys to when Ross Perot decided to buy a spot in the election. He split the vote on the side whose values he most closly resembled (forget if he was rep or dem, doesn't matter. what he did was split the vote between his party and the one he mirrored so even if people of like mind were the majority, they got split because they had two choices where as the other side only had one guy and got all the votes on his side.

Dennis, I'm pretty sure we all know nothing is really going to change, we are just gabbing here and I am not saying ANY of what I would LIKE to see happen is going to happen.

I would like to point out however that after Bush cheated in the election against Kerry with all the vote fixing and what not the most important election the USA EVER had was the one that got him out of office, Bush was the worst thing that ever happened to America. Obama is just stuck with Bush's mess, Obama didn't create it.

Keep in mind, the worst thing you can critize about Obama is how he is dealing with BUSH's mess. And you seem to always ignore this root cause when you slander him.

Thats really very funny as Bush had to leave after 8 years and THE PEOPLE voted Bush IN for 8 years. Bush wasn't running for office again after 8 years smitty. Get real and set aside that joint before typing.

Keep in mind, the worst thing you can critize about Obama is how he is dealing with BUSH's mess. And you seem to always ignore this root cause when you slander him.
This has been discussed here time and time again about who's fault is our current economic mess. You can use your search to find some answers here if you want to. Whatever.

In any case, what history, and present evidence will show is that our current economic evidence will show is that this mes is OWNED by the Democratic party. Pure and simple.

Now, as far as what Bush did while he was in office is not cool. I would agree with that in whole, not in part. He was not the conservative I thought he was. He was simple a Republican that spent to much.

As far as Obama and how he is dealing with Bush's mistake, all I can say is 2 things:

1) Government Run Health Care
2) Cap & Trade Legislation

Those 2 things alone will break this nation and run costs so high that it may go a long ways to destroying the private sector that supports this nation in the standards we have all enjoyed. Thats with both of those plans being OWNED by the LEFT and completely ignoring public opinion that is overwhelmingly against.
