Scavaging parts from knockoff Trex 450 metal head for RJX fbl head?
Can the parts required to complete the RJX fbl conversion for the Trex 450 be scavanged off of a knockoff metal Trex 450 head? I think RJX recommends the parts from a PRO or SPORT Trex be used, but I have access to a 450 knockoff head and another Align 450 metal head for the Trex V2.
Any ideas out there? Maybe the V2 parts won't work either. I'm not familiar with the Pro or Sport head. I would prefer not to disassimble my genuine Trex V2 head.
Thanks,
Don

This is what I had to get to make it work. The RJX head is intended for the 450 Pro, and the parts needed is 450 Pro parts. At least most of them.

If you own a 450SE V2 and buy the RJX FBL head you have to get following parts as well:

http://www.readyheli.com/HS1129_XL_L...E_p/hs1129.htm
Get this kit with 35 mm pushrods or manufacture them your self in one way or another.

http://www.readyheli.com/H45048_Link...3_p/h45048.htm
You have to get this kit since the long linkage balls is needed in this kit, the V2 balls doesn't fit the main blade holders. Long linkage ball (M2x2.5) x 1 (4.75x19.68mm)

Use the washers in this kit or the following washers in the RJX kit, in the RJX kit they are half the thickness of the Align washers. I used the Align washers, worked perfect.

http://www.readyheli.com/HS1268_F3_8...g_p/hs1268.htm
Use the Align ones, at least I heard that in the RJX kit for the T-Rex 500 the quality of the RJX thrust bearings are poor. The Align ones is probably better.

Get this kit and spare aluminum collars like theese:
http://www.infinity-hobby.com/main/p...oducts_id=4789

Or this kit with the collars included:
http://www.infinity-hobby.com/main/p...oducts_id=4805

The small washers (H45023) to be used behind the swash driver arm (FL-450-60249),
I found a spare pair in my SE V2 spare kit bag. Or just use the ones from your V2 head.

When you have assembled your RJX head you are going to get 2 screws left, I think they are meant for the feathering shaft, but I used the Align screws here too...

Thanks Stolpe,
That's what I call a very complete and inclusive run down on parts needed and where they can be purchased.
Best
regards,
Don

The 35 mm pushrods isn't mandatory, but I think that the original blade grip pushrods are too short. At least it didn't feel safe with that little material in the ball links to use if you don't get longer pushrods.

Glad to be able to help.
