Dykes rings were one of the Holy Grail of piston ring designs many years ago. But the motors were usually more expensive and used by those who were competing and wanted every last inch of performance. The majority of flyers want a reliable, relatively inexpensive motor. Economics plays a large part in what finally comes to market. Dykes rings just really never entered the mainstream.-----
